Wanted: Manual E86 Coupe

Hi all,

I am scouring all the obvious places for the right vehicle, but figured it still couldn't hurt to stick a wanted ad up here in any case. My only absolute requirements are:

Coupe
Manual gearbox
Not silver
FSH
<80k

As for colour, options, mods etc there is obviously stuff I would like, but I don't expect to be lucky enough to tick every box, so I'll just have to make a decision based on what comes up. My budget is up to £10k, if it's ticking a lot of my boxes. I'm located in Exeter, Devon.

I've been admiring Z4s for quite a while. Finally decided I should give my company car back, get shot of the 260Z 'project' in my garage, and get myself a nice Z4 I can enjoy every day. I am, as of today, ready to buy, albeit there is no urgency and I want the right one for me. So, if anyone has or knows of anything I may be interested in, please do get in touch.

Have been brushing up my knowledge on the forums and look forward to at some point probably failing to correctly use the search function and asking a daft question that's already been asked a hundred times.

Thanks, buddy! Hopefully so. Been watching the market a little while before jumping in. A few have been very close to being what I'm after, just a set of wheels I didn't like or a grand overpriced or 300-miles away or something. Sure the right one will come up soon enough.

Should never be afraid to travel for the right car :( asking prices are always negotiable & wheels are a easy switch :oops:

Haha ,i just spent 3 hours this evening clearing out my photobucket account from almost 2 years & there were around 100 different sets of wheels :cry:

Yep, wheels I can handle having to change if most of the rest is right. There's the additional cost of doing so to consider though when making my decision. I'm prepared to travel a fair way for the right one, and provided I have confidence in the seller. I've no desire to make 10-hour round trips just to view vehicles so if it's that far away I'd want to be going with a price roughly agreed and the assumption I'll be driving it home should it be as described.

Well, this one is only 38-miles away. It went up only about a week ago and has already had two price drops. Odd. Still seems to be priced a little high to my mind, as it's not exactly brimming with options. Don't know what you guys think? Those 5-spokes are probably my least favourite wheel and I think I like them even less finished like that:

I love 108's, more on a roadster and they have to be mint in OEM spec. MV2's 135's suit the coupe more than they do the roadster.
 
Personally would not pay more than £8750 but that's my own opinion .
The "5 star" wheels are actually a coveted Z wheel made by BBS for BMW & come in 2 parts hence why some sets get repainted 2 tone .
Some like them & some don't :? i just don't think the combination works on the black car but same set on a red or silver would look infinitely better :wink:
Easy to sell & easy to swap out so don't be put off the car , it does look like piano dash trim which is also nice providing it isn't scratched

Yeah I like the MV2s, or anything CSL looking. Good to know they'd likely be easy to move on then. Yeah, 8,500 to 8.750 was more where i was thinking too. Will probably try and arrange a viewing this week. I do like the piano dash and black interior.

Ah balls, sorry, there's just something about the silver that doesn't appeal to me like the other colours. Personal preference thing.

as I said I ALSO have a set of 5 108s
 
Well I thought I'd found one, but unfortunately the car the seller was looking to buy didn't work out, and so he's now not ready to sell his Z4 yet. Have gotten in touch with a couple people off here and Autotrader for a little more information, but as yet am still looking and would like to buy something this month ideally, so if you have or know of something please get in touch.
