WANTED: Key Programming

Hi,

I own a Z4 2.2i 2004. Looking to have my key programmed so that the roof can be opened & closed using the key. Plus any other little bits that can be added on.

Would this be possible on my model?

I frequent between Leicester and Telford so anyone close by or in between the two places that can do this please message me.

I will of course pay for your services.

I don't think so without installing something. I'm not sure if Intravee does this but the Gaptech module RCH+ does, you have to wire it in.
 
The key can be coded so the roof can be opened and closed using the key, but mine doesn't raise the windows when the roof goes back up. Whether it can be coded to do this or not, i don't know.

I just found it better to buy a gaptech module instead.
 
I knew there was a catch - you have to hold down the button if coded for both, right ben?

Defo just get a gaptech.

Once the roof is back up just RE press the an hold the lock button an it will put the windows up

Yeah it's not the best way of doing things :lol: definitely prefer using the gaptech.

Mine could do this even before I installed the GapTech so at least the later pre-facelift models can raise/lower the roof if you hold the key button...
 
Trying not to sound like I'm volunteering someone else's services but try contacting mac who runs zedfest he's just next to the m1 at loughborogh an knows an awful lot about coding, has offered services before so I'm sure you can sort something out

Would prefer not to install a Gaptech module as from what I've heard the range on it isn't great.

On a slightly separate note, does operating the roof use alot of power? I've found that on occasions the roof doesn't/struggles to close. Usually, if I try to close it immediately after opening it when stationary and when the engine is not running. Has anyone else experienced this?

I've found Gaptech range is the same as my key.

RE power - not experienced it, but it could be a low battery you have or the roof motor is on it's way out.
