WANTED - iPhone 6 or 5S - cash waiting

As above, my iPhone 5S has just died due to water ingress.

Looking for an iPhone 5S or 6 (but not 6 plus, ta). Prefer black, but would consider other colours. Keen to get back up and running ASAP. I'm on O2, so O2 or unlocked would be great.

Cash waiting. What have you got?
 
You do realise an Apple Store Genius bar should replace under the Out of Warranty programme ,a factory refurb unit identical to donor is £199
 
Had no idea. Will nip in tomorrow and ask.

Phone is still in warranty, but I dropped it, and it was water damage, which isn't covered under warranty anyways.

Apple offers service options for an iPhone that is not eligible for warranty service.

Battery Service

If your iPhone requires service due to the battery's diminished ability to hold an electrical charge and it is not covered under Apple's warranty, an AppleCare product, or statutory consumer rights, Apple will service your iPhone for a service fee. iPhone Screen Repair

Repair and replacement costs depend on your iPhone model and your AppleCare product coverage. Accidental damage isn't covered under the Apple One Year Limited Warranty.

When you request screen repair online or by phone, Apple will place an authorization on your credit card to cover the iPhone out-of-warranty service cost shown below in the Out-of-Warranty Service section. This is the cost for replacing the screen and fixing any additional damage. We'll charge this amount if your iPhone is eligible for out-of-warranty service and our diagnostic test shows additional damage. If your iPhone has no damage other than the screen, we'll charge the screen repair service fee.

User damage is clearly excluded from manufacturers warranty just like BMW :wink:

Warranty if still on donor device transfers to service replacement or 90 days which ever is the longer
and if you can back up, do so your's will go and Genius bar do not provide that service

Didn't go near a pool :poke:

Chipped the rear cover a month or two ago, a few two many, er, soft drinks, one night. Aye. I reckon since then there's been some condensation getting in when I've been been out running with it.

Just a PITA as it's not covered under warranty, and the internals are proper goosed.

Oh well :roll:

They don't keep (they only replace screens in store )you get a Factory refurbished iPhone identical to donor and many say that they are more carefully checked than new line and all user facing parts are new ,or you may get a new one depending on supply back for refurb .all come in a brown service box and they swap over the counter ,make an appointment at Genius bar they are usually book up
walk in with duff iPhone walk out with a replacement

Can do, but don't want the claims history. Keen to get back up and running ASAP. Using my work iPhone for now, but it's meant to be strictly for business use, so don't want them to rumble me

last advice if donor is locked to O2 then so will the replacement if unlocked then likewise replacement unlocked

You sir, are a legend. Took my phone in today. And I'm now setting up my brand new iPhone 5S, from Apple.

No charge :D :thumbsup:
