WANTED EXHAUST!

I've got a 2003 3.0SE.. I want some form of performance exhaust guys,Remus,Miltek,BlueFlame etc etc etc Just for some more noise

If anyones got one there thinking of selling or selling the Z4 and returning to standard...Let me know Cash waiting..

Also willing to travel and collect

Not many people do exhausts on here mate as theres little/no point, sorry.

If you just want more noise, why not just chop the resonators or 2nd CAT's or the backbox? (notice the use of the word 'or' :P )

Plenty of youtube videos of people with 330's/530's with the same thing. My mates 328i sounds fantastic with a CAT delete (track car though).
 
I had one made sscat back from prospeed in Cardiff the guys build it to your spec , mine sounds lovely and only cost £165 fitted ,its not worth messing with it yourself at this money ask to speak to Charlie on 02920 461444 , here is a link to there web site http://www.pro-speedexhausts.com/welcome.html drop the car off have a days shoping in Cardiff and pick the car back up simples !

Humm yeah my mechanics said this,When you mean 2nd cats you mean the ones nearear to the actual exhaust? cut both of them out and replace with just pipes? How loud would this be? Same as a nice miltek backbox? more ?less?But then when i sell the car it cant really be returned to stadnard ? What and where is the resonators?

sounds cheap dude,Little far tho considering im in London ;(
 
If you chop the 2nd set of Cats, you'll get more rasp. If you chop the muffler, there will be a more bassy exhaust note. Cant tell you how loud though - suck it n see?

Advantages/Disadvantages of chopping Cats:
+ Most restrictive of the two, maybe netting a few bhp if youre lucky.
- Hardest to remove as they're on a bend and need 4 sleeves/flange sets

Advantages/Disadvantages of chopping Muffler (Back Box):
+ Easiest to do / return to factory - Just 2 sleeves / flange sets and around 2x 1m 50mm pipes needed.
+ Around a 5kg weight reduction
- Minimal performance increase
- Probably have to weld on some hangers.

Sounds good dude,Looking on the internet possibly cause some probs with lamba sensors? and ligths on the dash coming on ?

Humm so remove cats won't give anymore low down deefy sound just more rasp up high nothing in idle?

Aslo when you mean remove the backbox you mean remove the actual big back box and put straigth through pipes on ? So when you look underneath the tail pipes just carrying on going like 2 long pipes?(really bad explantion lol)?

Surprise no bodys done this on the forums? How much should i let a mechanic charge me? I think ima prefer to go with the backbox mode due to the fact i could reverse it by getting a cheap backbox off ebay again.. but with the cats i presume there expensive to replace.

Nope, no lambda lights... The post cat lambda sensors are after the first cats in the exhaust manifold :) It wont affect idle much, and will sound more //M like than boomy. You're best youtubing videos for CAT/Muffler deletes of 330's 328's 325's etc etc. Dont forget, they usually only have 1 set of cats so yours will sound less pronounced.

Why would you need another backbox? If you dont like it, just take the straight pipes off and put yours back on! Thats the beauty of it, completely returnable to stock.

And im about to do it to the backbox, just need to convince my mate whos good at pipe bending. I have 2 clamp/sleeves ready for it :D
 
If I were doing the cat removal that Ed mentions I'd probably just get a custom centre to make me 2 new pipes that replicate the pipe '1' in the first diagram, or containing some less restrictive cat.

That way you could reverse it in about 30 minutes to return to normal for any MOT test that requires it, or when selling.

Cat is not a part of it, but emissions are so I guess passing depends on how important the second cat is on a warmed up engine and how strict the MOT tester on emissions.

just given them an email to ask about prices and different options of sound.

I dont go on the motorway much, as will be in central london a bit so not too fussed if its silly loud.
