I’m looking for a good E89 3.0ltr-
I’m serious about this.
Please help me find my 1st E89.

Cheers
Rich.

Everybody seems to want the 3 litre E89, due to the N52 engine being bulletproof.
They were not as common as the 23i, either, so seem to be few and far between and fetch good money.

The reply is really appreciated.
I ran a 6 pot e46 (2.2) a few years back and I absolutely loved the silky smooth engine.
I have to get the 3.0 this time around.
Haven’t had a drive in the 2.3,
What is your thoughts on the difference between these.

Both give you straight 6 refinement but the 3 litre has much more oomph than the 2.5 litre (Or 23i as it's referred to). I've just moved that way. Having said that, the sport mode on the auto box does transform it.

Hi Rich R it may be worth adding more details, colour preference, budget, manual/ auto etc.
Good luck with your search, the 3.0l are great 👍

Also which 3.0l do you want? 30i, 35i or 35is? As already said the 30i is not common but there are generally a lot of 35i about (as long a you are happy with an auto and the N54).

As Z450 said-The need to provide details of my requirements is important.

Colour-TWo thoughts-
White exterior with Red lthr interior.
Blue with white/beige
manual-is my preference. However Auto is also good having never had a auto.
10k is budget

This one came up for sale a few weeks ago. Started at £9.5k (way too high) I think, then down to £8.5k and now £8k.

I owned it 2018-2019 and took it from about 29k miles to 38k miles. Bought from Sytner, and sold it back to them. Looks to have received a few body wounds since then, and it is low spec, but the owner seems very keen to get rid quickly so might be open to negotiation and I can guarantee it's a lovely thing to cruise down to Italy in.

Hi and welcome to the forum Rich.

I haven't had both engines in a Z4, but bought an E91 325i which only lasted a year. It just felt a bit lethargic at times, although the weight of the 3 Series and long gearing probably didn't help. Anyway I replaced it with an E90 330i that I've had over 6 years now!

TBH if you want a 30i it's probably worth holding out for one IMHO.
