Hi there

I am currently looking for my first Z4, and if anybody is thinking of selling please get in touch. The criteria is quite specific....

E89 2009-11 in either black/silver/grey
2.5L
Must have sports seats (they are perfect for my dodgy back!)
Black/dark interior
Mileage under 60k
FSH in good condition.

Many thanks

Tim

So in terms of models, you're looking for a 23i, which translates to the 2.5L engine.

If you're looking for a 6 cylinder naturally aspirated engine, I'd suggest including the 30i into your criteria. The 3L engine doesn't have a massive impact on fuel economy, but the 30i also had a higher trim level with leather and heated seats as standard equipment.

I wouldn't say the 3litre has a massive effect on economy either, it has zero effect! I think bmw's own figures are the same for both engines.

Thanks Rob

I thought it negligible, didn't know it was zero difference

This looks a nice example for your wishlist

I've recently moved from the 23i to the 3.0 and I find my new car more reliable. It's a win win

Many thanks for your replies - 3.0 added to the criteria!

I thought I'd mention it as when I bought my 23 I later wished I'd bought the 30. The consequence is when I went to change car again I went all the way to 35iS to make up for it.

Good luck with your search, I still don't understand people chosing to buy a 2.5 over a 3.0. I suppose it's spec and availability at the time of looking.
