WANTED - E85 facelift OEM foglamp covers

Never seen any and don't know if they exist. As far as I am aware you would need working fog lights to pass an MOT as they are standard on the car. I know ///M bumpers don't have fog lights fitted as standard so no issue with passing an MOT

A main BMW dealer picked up that one of my fogs was full of condensation at the service & quoted a handsome sum to replace, I did ask if it was a potential MOT failure but they didn't think so, the next week the car passed the MOT with it still like it - no advisories

Didn't someone do a fog light to running led conversion recently? Could that be an option?

Wanted a pair of OEM foglamp covers/blanks for facelift E85. Pls Pm me if you have/know where I can get some.

Cheers

I should have 2 at home, hope I didn't throw them out, my Z came with them(blanks) and then I fitted fog lights, no problem passing the NCT in Ireland , for what it's worth, but then again I think it's the rear one that is a necessity.

Didn't think anyone would ever want them :headbang:

Unfortunately I am out of the country for 3 weeks, but If you haven't found any by then I'll post them to you, If you just pay the cost of the post :)

Edit...oops mine is pre facelift !

Yes corsair77's excellent post is what prompted me to try and source these, they are off the coupe, apparently in some markets they had blanks instead of fogs. Good point about the legalities of removing ie ///M not having them.

The fogs on the facelift are a complete pain in the arse, rubbish seals, pretty hard to sort out unless you want to completely refurb them by cracking them open like some brave souls have done on here. They are just silly expensive (IIRC something like £150 each ffs) and even then they seem to fail and mist up in no time. Mine are misted most of the time and I can only assume must be pretty corroded inside as a result. We need decent aftermarket solution!

I've recently fitted the facelift bumper and managed to get hold of some corroded fogs for a good price. I just tinted the lenses with headlight tinting spray. Looks really good and you can't see the mistiness!

My fogs were badly misted up and also very corroded and were replaced by dealer under AUC when I bought the zed. And yes I believe they are £175 each or something like that

I remember someone else doing an LED after market conversion, but can't seem to find the thread but I think they were via fleabay

They look good, but are they not just continuing to rot inside? My concern is unless disconnected from the electrical system you may end up with electrical gremlins down the line? That's why I was looking to remove them and get blanks.

Thanks for the responses :)

Yes I bought a pair of covers from Sopers for about 45 quid iirc. Then did Corsaire77 conversion with the Osram Night@Day drl's. I know they are not to everyone's taste but I really like them
