Wanted E85 ashtray lid

Wanted. E85 ashtray lid! Mine had a small mark on it so I tried wiping it with an alcohol wipe and hey presto it suddenly looks a whole lot worse :( colour is a dark silver. Unless someone knows how to refurb it!
 
And you can't buy the lid alone from BMW.....you have to buy the lid plus housing & that was about £110 nearly 2 years ago when I bought from Sopers. Ouch. :cry:
 
I carbon wrapped mine. Very easy and it looks mint. You can get a perfect line by cutting around the outside edge then heating and folding that over.
 
Indeed I did. If you were local I'd do yours for you. Very easy.

I removed the whole unit from the car (not difficult) and wrapped the cover. I have a photo somewhere..

I saw those Mau but mine is like a dark silver not black. Funny how such a small part can make the whole inside look really tatty!
