Hi,

I'm looking for an E85 manual in a non-monochrome colour (no whites, blacks, greys, etc.). Ideally Montego blue with white interior but open to other options. Ideally a 3 litre but as long as it's 6 cylinder I'm happy.

I'm wanting to retrofit carplay to it so it needs to have at least a cut-out for storage in the dashboard but ideally it would have a nav screen already.

Again, ideally with a removable hard-top but I'm happy to buy one of those elsewhere once I have the car.

I'm Scottish and stereotypically stingy so I'm wanting one as cheap as possible 😅 anything over £6k is probably over budget.

Anyone have / know of anything that fits the bill?

Hi and welcome to the forum. :thumbsup:

If you didn't mind a pre-facelift model Merlot looks great IMHO, although M-Sport seats are very desirable and were standard on all facelift Sport models but quite rare in pre-facelifts. FWIW I think the SMG was only fitted to pre-facelifts.

Hey OP, my 3.0 SMG is currently in storage in Aberdeenshire and I’m open to it going, as I’ve moved overseas and can’t import it to where I’m living. It is a really good spec, under 100k, but it is Silver and unfortunately also a Cat N - but would be happy to do a deal if interested. Just send me a DM if you’d like to know more.
 
I’m selling my 6 cylinder manual car. Relatively cheaply too, see my ad…

It is silver though I’m afraid.

Hi, thanks. I don't think I mind if it's pre or post facelift, just as long as it's an E85 :)

Thanks for the reply but I think I'm wanting to avoid getting one in Silver. I'll let you know if that changes.
 
Just thought I'd mention that I'm happy to travel for the right car. I can get a train or plane down south then drive the car back to Scotland.

Hi, I have a 2.2 E85 89k, mechanically it's in A1 condition, alot of money spent. No bangs or knocks. The list is too big to mention to what I have done. It's Toledo blue with E89 seat upgrade. I have owned it over 3years. If you are interested.

Thanks for flagging it. The car looks lovely but I'm keen on a convertible and it's over my budget. GLWTS :)

Thanks for linking it. I've actually seen it already. I'm keen on retrofitting carplay without cutting a hole in the dashboard, that car has the standard dash without a storage compartment or a nav screen which makes the retrofit more difficult. I don't like the look of the systems that just stick a tablet to the dash.

Dean's car looks great but unfortunately I'm pretty set on one with a dash cut out for storage box or nav system pre-installed to make an OEM look Carplay retrofit possible.

This means I'm still looking for the right car. Thanks to everyone for their comments and suggestions thus far.
 
Still looking unfortunately.

It looks like I might have to customise on the colour or the inbuilt screen. I've seen a fair few online in a spec I want but in black or silver - which I;m not keen on. Similarly, there's a few in the colour and spec I want but missing the screen which makes retro-fitting carplay more difficult unless I stick an ugly tablet to the dashboard.

If any members have any thoughts feel free to chime in!
 
I have bought a 2.2 it has the big screen which sticks out it put me off buying at first now after a couple of weeks i quite like it and as they upgrade these things its much easier to just pull out and stick another in also another thing the ones that are fitted in cant be moved sideways which i like when driving
