WANTED: E46 330 front caliper carriers

Hi all,

I am going to the Nurburgring in May and feel that a brake upgrade is necessary. I can't find e46 330 caliper carriers anywhere.

Would be very grateful if someone happens to have some hanging around if they would allow me to purchase them.

I ended up buying a complete extra set calipers and carriers after buying BMWX3 calipers and carriers (325mm) and finding that they wouldn't fit :cry:
 
Give Martin Scott a ring at Scott's Performance Centre in Dartford +44 1322 294431

He sourced mine for me, though was a little more than some had paid sourcing privately from some sources he knows.
 
Or try a breakers advertising an E46 330 breaking. There are a few on Ebay at present.

I tried this, though all the calipers were already gone as a very popular upgrade

How bizarre. When I did this upgrade 4 to 5 years ago I phoned a breaker and ordered a single 330D caliper and for an extra fiver or so post, he threw both carriers in. How things change as upgrades become better known.

I have contacted the ebay sellers and have found some £80 for callipers and carriers for both sides.

Do you need to change the master cylinder? If so is that easy?

No Change of the master cylinder required.

What discs are you going for? I bought MTECH and have been quite satisfied.
 
I was thinking Mtech (having looked at your signature). I also looked at EBC but they seem quite pricey for top notch ones.

As for pads I think I will go for EBD redstuff.

I haven't had any quality issues and i have bought them for my Z and other cars. See what others report.

We would all be interested in your adventure to Nurburgring :thumbsup:
Can you run a thread our 'how too' on how you organised the trip?
 
I've been running EBC discs and pads on mine for a long time. Very satisfied with the performance. Actually went with green pads as I don't track it and they give excellent performance for general driving, bite from cold, etc. Would def. choose them every time, even though red are the recommended based upon engine power. Disks are grooved that look really good, but remember they do make more noise than smooth.

About the Nurburgring; My girlfriend got the trip for me as a present for my birthday. Going on Sunday 25th May back on 28th. really looking forward to it. I will do a write up if you think it will help.

I might post the dates on here to see if anyone else is up for a cruise down there. :driving:

Cj10jeeper where did you get your CF rear splitter from?

CF diffuser is a factory OEM that was produced for a short time for facelift left exhaust exit only. I custom modded it to fit pre-facelift and for quad exhaust.

They are not available and I believe they are rarer than hens teeth.

+1 on this, did it myself last spring, bolt straight on!
1 tip though, its worth getting either Brand new Nuts, or / and use Thread Lock on them as they can vibrate loose (not clever)

Good advice ESP, I will definatley make sure I get them on there properly.

One more quick question; Do I need to bleed the system after installing the new callipers? If so which is the best fluid to use?

UPDATE:

Hi I said I would update when I had decided on discs and pads.

I have gone for EBC turbo grooved discs and yellowstuff pads. I have also re-built both calipers.

I will put pics up and may do a calliper build guide.
