WANTED - CSL Alloys (19")

So, I've found a set of genuine CSL's - no mean feat I tell you - but they need a refurb, hell one even as a slight crack repair done.

There up for £900 with Kumo tyres (5-6mm) is that reasonable or should I be patient and wait it out?
 
Hmmm..

I suppose with a decent refurb and repair they will stand you at £1300ish..

Then you still have a set that has had a crack repair,IMHO that seriously compromises the price...And desirability.

You can great a brand new set for £1700....

Personally I'd wait until you need to replace your tyres and get CSLs then.

Give the cracked ones a wide berth imo.

I'm pretty sure they're CS Front wheels ET47 and 8" as opposed to ET44 and 8.5", 1/2 " makes all the difference :D

This is what confused me recently because there are:

Type 163M (without the BMW logo) as listed above under the Z4 section

Type 359M (with the BMW logo) under the M3 section
http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/bmw_alloy_wheels/3_series_m3_e90_92_93_alloys/19_bmw_359m_wheel_3018

They are slightly different, though could this be they are both genuine BMW alloys, just one of the designs has the BMW logo on the front that's made for the M3, not the Z4???
 
I don't see why anyone would buy replicas for an M. I understand on the other models, because they aren't a direct fit; but to buy a decent sports car and lumber it with poor-quality wheels just bemuses me.

I'm sure the CSLs on my old Z4M cost around £1600 from BMW, but that was a few years ago now.

Yup 100% agreed just can't fathom it, same goes for tyres.

Neither type of wheel was made for the Z4.

The 163M is the CSL wheel amde for the E46 M3 CSL

The 359M wheel is a different wheel fitted to the 1M (and I believe the competition package for E9x M3's)

So different wheels, technically they could both be genuine or both be fakes.

I totally understand about tyres but a there are a lot of good quality reps about. As I mentioned early on some get great reviews. I don't see the issue?
 
There isnt any particular issue..Just some people will run them and some wont,if people wanna argue about strength and weight then im not having it at all.

With todays road conditions and ultra low profile tyres any wheel can crack.....BBS,Ronal,Hartge or chinese copies are all susceptable.

I have ran reps on lots of BMW's.....Maybe 20 sets if i ever care to count them up and NEVER had an issue with any set...

Why would they be poor quality? Have you inspected these wheels from the manufacturer?

I've seen cracked CSL's which had to be replaced on warranty and one with flakey paint which was also replaced...
