Yes but time consuming to get all the trim off. Plan for a day and if you need wiring help drop me a PM - the wire to the engine bay needs to go to a different pin.
Tried ebay/breakers for the stalk?
I really need to do this soon. Don't want to cut the plastic myself though.
Cheaper than buying a pre-cut cowl! Just follow the outline, drill 2 holes and then dremel, easy peasy!
I have no drill and no idea what a dremel is haha.
Hi, i was quoted £120.00 from my local Dealer (York) just for the stalk. However, i have bought a stalk from these guys for £81.11 with free delivery http://www.bimmertune.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=24&product_id=85
They don't sell the harness though,sorry.
I used an hacksaw to cut my cowl by cutting about 2mm away from the guide lines then using a tiny file set (£3.00 from the Range) for the straights and curves to file to the line finishing off using sandpaper to smooth out = perfect result!

I've managed to source whats seems to be the only one from all the breakers listed on eBay.. for the princely sum of £40 delivered 
Just waiting for it to turn up and make sure its the right thing before I order the harness from sopers. Whats the best guide for fitting with the harness? Currently trawling the archives

Nicely done. You might aswell get the wiring loom now. Drop me a PM with your email and I'll send the retro instructions along with the correct pin connections.
Hope you don't mind me tagging on to this thread... Would anyone know why my dealer would say that BMW need to code the Control Stalk, my car is a 2004 E85 (Pre December build) 3.0, this was Sytner Cardiff! Through many threads I see that it should be a straight forward 'plug n play' without any wiring!

Because they are idiots and/or want to make money. The retro instructions they follow state coding required but this is just an update of the build code. Works without it on all models.
