WANTED AIR SCOOPS example: RPI

Looking to pick up a front air scoop for my E85 I understand it will not give much or barely any performance but I am looking to get one for my E85 and cant justify paying 99$ U.S to 199$ US from RPI does anyone have any custom made or for sale? Or if not does anyone know any other brands other than RPI that might be a better price?

Not that difficult to make, all you need is a piece of ABS plastic and a heat gun/strip for making the bends, and a little patience. You can even "improve" on the design by using the factory mounting hole for the intake deflector (which you remove) so there is no need to create a separate mounting hole.

No link or site, just a little DIY on my part. Found a picture on the net and duplicated using cardboard and tape. Trial and error fitting wasn't difficult but a little tight since I did not remove the bumper cover, only the grill. After making the master, I unfolded it and used it as a pattern to cut out the form from a sheet of ABS. Heating/bending the ABS creates larger radius bends than the cardboard so a little guess work until you know where to start the folds. There were two end joints that I glued/filled for cosmetic reasons only, they were strong enough without the additional support. I left it in its original black textured finish and it still looks great. It's been on the car now for almost 26K miles and 7 years.

Not really. You should try it, it's quality bonding time with your car.

Not really. You should try it, it's quality bonding time with your car.

trust me I spend plenty of time wiping her down and doing work on her I just cant justify spending time to make an air scoop I dont want it THAT badly.
