I'm desperately trying to track down an ABS Unit/Module for my Z as mine is now damaged beyond repair :(. I have a 2007 (56 plate) 2.5 SE and the part number is 3452 6769164-02.

So I need the exact part number or indeed one which will also be compatible. I'm told I need one from a similar 2007 plate.

Any help or if you know where I may locate one. I've have tried numerous salvage companies and garages and no luck yet.

Thanks in advance.

Can I ask what happened? What warning lights did you get if any? I had and tc and handbrake light come on the other day. Guy a garage said it could be abs module problem

Yes it may be the case, I have the abs, tc and handbrake light on (as well as tyre deflated light) and my speedo has stopped working, I had a diagnostic done and there was no communication with the abs. Worse case scenario it's the abs module like mine but could be as simple as a sensor. Check out my post and there are loads of threads if u do a search

Hi - i used

http://www.1stchoice.co.uk/?gclid=CKTxiNqjvroCFUrJtAodAh8AwQ

it searches 270 breakers and they call you if they have it in stock

there are a couple of web search companies - i used a couple and tried them every 4 weeks until i got one

and then on the same day - i got 2 dealers rang me ...

Yeah I've tried this one and a few others but no luck, but as you say u tried every 4 weeks I may try that. But with winter pretty much here is not the safest to drive without tc and abs.

Thanks

i was looking from about april and finally got one in august m- there are a couple of search engines that search multiple breakers

im hoping to have it fitted this week because as you say - those fat wide tires do like to spin in the cold and wet.

I am very tempted to buy some nice winter tires as my runflats are getting a bit thin

Very lucky and I can understand how satisfying it must have been to get the part finally. In lucky I don't have run flats though, although will be chafing my rear tyres this month as they need doing.

I am now even contemplating buying a new part eek! But won't be going through BMW it will be through an independent :( or if it was as easy to take out n re-fit before may do it myself. As my boyfriend and I (I said I cos I helped with the unscrewing of the unit and taking it out) took it out to have it tested and they sed it was beyond repair. I will do what's needed ultimately

Yeah i had exactly the same thing, the guy couldn't get the computer communicate with the ABS module. Did the lights ever turn off for you? Has this been an on and off problem or did it just happen and stay on?

Currently my lights are all off so will see how things go. Is it just a bad module or is it damaged from water or oil or something getting in?

Let me know how you get on with find a module or how much it is a for a new one!

Hope you get it sorted.

The lights came on one day and that was it for me! Everyone says it starts as an on n off fault n then one day the lights just stay on, my lights have never gone off, which led me to think maybe it was an on n off fault for the previous owner (I bought it in feb this year) but bought it with only 23k on the clock so I'm confused in general.

At least your lights have gone off puts mind at ease if nothing else haha I was told my processor was damaged n hence the problem so I'm thinking it may be water damage, but I guess ill never really know.

Yup will keep you posted :)

So final instalment and update to this problem, was having no luck with the second hand part and with winter here I have paid out for a new part which cost £804 with a friends discount but should have been £900! was programmed and fitted and now car is finally fully functioning and the speedo came back too, also had it taken out of transport mode too and fan works properly again. At least I know what the problem was (the abs/DSC module unit) now if it happens to anyone else, but equally could be a sensor from a thread I just read. Happy driving again :)
