Hi ladies and gents,

I'm on the lookout for a 35is with nav and a few nice extras.

Must have 30k or less on the clock.

Ideally looking for grey, black or white car with red leather. Would also consider a red car.

Please get in touch if you're thinking of selling up. Rest assured it will be well looked after in my care. :)

Hi Zed Five,

Yes I have been scouring it daily. Looking for an older car for around the £25k mark ideally, but not many out there in a nice color combo.

Just need to try to be patient - I have seen plenty of cars sell at my price point over the past few months that would have suited, just nothing around at the moment unfortunately.

I narrowly missed out on a nice grey one with red leather, but didn't quite move fast enough.

Hi all, still looking if anyone is thinking of selling up.

Have a look in the for sale section at Ed c 28i for sale James, Matthurley has put info up on a blue 35is for sale.

Thanks John - that one has been up for sale on AT for a little while now. Unfortunately not a colour combo I fancy, whilst the miles are 20k over the maximum I would consider.

Ideally looking for a 20k - 25k miles car for around the £25k mark, but might stretch to £30k for a newer car with a nice spec if it became available.

I did also enquire about the red one up for sale with Partridge. They are asking strong money for it however (IMO), as I know a number of members have recently bought similar cars for £30k ish. I enquired about whether there was a deal to be done around the £30k mark but they insinuated not and didn't respond to the email I sent to them trying to engage in further discussion. Another one that was six months younger and better specced came up in Heathrow for £31,400, but was sold this weekend, so I know better value cars are out there.

I know I am in the right place in terms of budget so just going to bide my time. My Z4 Coupe goes shortly so can drive my Alfa around for a few weeks whilst I wait for the right car to come up.

Doesn't stop me wanting a 35is now though!

Good luck with the search James. I'm usually scouring Autotrader for these so will keep my eyes peeled.

Thanks Wyldie, if you spot or hear of anything please let me know.

I have wavered a couple of times and started looking at 640d M Sports as there are shed loads of them around, but want something I can use for a Petrolhead Nirvana tours next year, so a big lard arse like that isn't really going to suit. I reckon a nicely fettled 35is would be quite capable of keeping up with some rather more exotic machinery on the open road. :driving:

Hi James

I have a white with black leather 35is Im thinking of putting up for sale soon. It has sat nav, and a really good spec. The mileage is higher than you want, 53,000 at the moment but I'm realistic in my asking price.

Give me a shout if you were interested and we can have a chat. No worries if not it's such a great car I really want to keep it!!!!

Cheers

Did you consider a new one as they are rock bottom price now (about 31-32 ) ? Cost of ownership is probably not much different and you can spec what you want.

Yes did look at new via Broadspeed - once specced to a decent level you are looking at circa £38k and an eight week wait.

After some reflection I decided I would rather buy a used one.

Trouble is most stock is in the hands of BMW as they take cars back off ending PCP deals and they are distorting the market by keeping prices artificially high. There are a number of used ones available via BM that are considerably more expensive than new ones!

With the E89 effectively now a sunsetting model (the last E model), just make a few dealers daft low offers on the used ones. One will bite.

You have to do that just to get down to anything like a realistic price, let alone a good deal!

Tried having a candid conversation about price with Partridge regarding the red one they have had listed for weeks at £35k. The chap I spoke to felt the car was good value at £35k, even though I am quite aware a number of members have recently bought similar cars for £30k and there was another comparable car better specced that came up last week within the BMW dealer network for £31,400.

He told me their systems showed the car was generating big interest in terms of clicks and was confident it would sell for near their asking price.

Its still up for sale as far as I can see...

ok. Tell him to call you when the clicks run out. and he wants to still get a number starting with 3.

Hi guys,

Still looking for a 35is if anyone is thinking of selling up.

Another forum member kindly called to talk about potentially selling me their car, however whilst it sounded a lovely spec, the mileage was a little higher than I wanted, so I have decided to hang on for something with <30k on the clock.
