Hi guys,

A Z4 virgin at the moment but after many many recommendations I'm looking to get one. About £7k to spend and had to be a 3.0i. Ideally looking for one with an upgraded sound system, sport edition and the aero body kit. I'm not overly keen on the red leather seats but obviously willing to compromise on some things.

What's essential is the age, mileage, engine size and good condition. I've unfortunately seen one or two that haven't been respected as much as they deserve!

Based in Preston but willing to travel for a decent car.

Cheers,

Simon

Mine would have been perfect for you, but even with mine having low milage its not as low as 55k.

However, it ticks your other boxes if you had to make one compromise:

Hi Mooney,

Yeah I was torn over yours, it does look well cared for but I think the extra 20k is further than I'd want to compromise right now. I'll keep it in mind if nothing comes up but I'm sure it'll go quickly

I wouldn't worry too much about 75k on an (obviously) well cared for car...

you can cause more damage doing 20k with short journeys etc etc...

Good luck with your search though...

Agreed with the above comments - worry more about the service schedule than the mileage

My 2003 had 19k on the clock when I bought it 3+ years ago - it's now on 61k and still runs like new

These motors will do 100k+ without any major work and run through and beyond 200k+

Yeah, from what I've seen 50k of bad treatment is worse than 100k of someone who respects their car! Right now I'm trying to go for both the 50k and well cared for, but will see.

Thanks

I have to say to you that red leather seats looks stunning with a black interior just my opinion of course, and yes my car has them :)

Always good to get both... Oh and if you find the perfect one with coloured leather, I have 2 sets of black you can swop with, I hate black leather!! :D

Might be more a problem with me than the red leather. I was struck down with a severe case of gingerness at birth and have been suffering from it ever since, as such red leather is something I should never own.

I may take you up on that cueball!

One thing I did forget to mention, has to be manual, not find of autos even with paddle shift.

Cheers

60k is the expensive Inspection 2 service. Why not consider a few over that mark, as it will lower the running costs?

Expensive? Inspection 2?

I did mine myself, for peanuts :rasp:

FYI, this is a 120k car:

Condition/service history over mileage, every day of the week.

Thanks for the info guys, but after compromising on the red leather and a few extras I found a pristine 04 with full BMW service history and less than 30k on the clock. Looks like it's been kept wrapped in silk when not on the road.

Picking it up tomorrow, can't wait

Great news... Now would sir prefer the normal black leather with elec and heated function... Or the extended black leather ones, elec but no heat...

:thumbsup;
