after paying my insurance last week (went with Chris Knott off the forum  ) its about time i get some fresh tyres for the summer!

my current fronts are 225/40/18 RUN FLATS!! and are getting bald and my rear are 225/40/18 (wrong size?!) WINTER RUN FLAT tires so as you can imagine they need replacing ASAP now the weather is warming up!

im after a full set (or possibly a set of fronts and a set of rears if different people only have pairs available)

so let me know what you have up for grabs guys, no massive rush just yet but defo something that's going to be done in the next couple of weeks so thought id ask on here before doing the online/going to tyre place route....

Edit: im looking for non-runflats please :driving:

thanks in advance guys and gals :driving:

I have one 255/35/18 and two 225/40/18 Bridgestone Potenza RFs. Approximately 6mm tread (+/- 1mm). Still have the spikey bits on the sides. I'm based in Wiltshire though, so not sure this will be any good for either of you?

thanks for the offer, but i forgot to mention that im after non-runflats, ill change it now

Speak to Andy Wilcock aka MrWilks off here. He's sorted out a fair few members, including myself. I'll not be bothering with online companies again after dealing with him.

thanks JAD, will wait a little while and hopefully he will read this before i pester him haha

and yea im not really wanting to look online etc as im pretty damn sure i can get them a lot cheaper elsewhere and/or off here which is most probs best (Y)

Tyres as we all know can be a real bunfight , what works for some folks would not satisfy others & that primarily can be said for what amount is acceptable to pay ?
You can buy brand new budget for less than part worn quality ? Which do you prefer ?
Or do you go down the middle & buy new "half decent" tyres by that i mean not top brand but not the very cheapest available ?
On a personal note as i change wheels quite frequently  but do like the big names i would always go for part worn Conti's or similar brand
A couple of makes ive tried on various wheels + cars that have been more than acceptable if driving your car within its capacities & following the suggested speed limits  are Maxxis , Nexen & Kumho
I guess a target budget is the kick off point to your alternatives

I've got two brand new budget tyres soon to be for sale, only done about 100 miles.
They genuinely are a fantastic tyre (they just don't work on my new wheels now I'm going lower)

well my dads mate owns his own tyre place and has quoted me some "good tyres with high speed rating" for £60 each fitted and balanced for fronts and £72 each fitted and balanced for the rears so £264 for all 4 fitted and balanced, but im not sure of the brand so waiting to hear back what make they are.

whats a rough guide price for a 2nd hand set of part worn Contis ?

Roughly the same as half decent brand new i'd say , if the £260/£280 price band works for you there's no need to go budget at that price
A set of staggered BM 18s in Maxxis or Kumho should be do able & Nexen probably a bit less

Then you could pay just a few ££ more on the fronts for Vreds
