This was the 2006 3.0si for £8995 ? Never fails to amaze me how sellers, private or dealers , describe their cars and make no effort to prepare it properly - with that mileage and price it would need to be in top condition - I know how you feel - another wasted journey - after being persuaded to sell my first zed I went for miles ( off the Isle of Wight where I live ) to try and find a genuine car , being told each one was virtually a minter only to find at best a mediocre example that had worn leather , dints , resprayed bits and wheels that needed refurbishing .
You have to be patient I'm afraid - there will be "the one " out there - you'll know as soon as you see it. I used to ask for extensive email closeups before setting off to view - and ask for the v5 number so I could check on the dvla website to check mot history ( and advisories ) - if the seller didn't want to do this then I didn't bother to even view.
Good luck in your quest.
It literally FLEW OFF and went flying behind !! It is quite irritating how little some dealerships or a garage prepares a car for sale. The rest of the car was filthy, (interior especially) though the salesman did say that it had just come in as part exchange.
