Wanted: 03-06 3.0i OEM backbox

Looking for one that will be used on a car, so no holes/major damage etc... but happy for general wear and tear etc.

Ideal for those who have upgraded to Milltek or whatever and have one going free and want a bit of money for it.

Not sure how much they are worth, seen some for lots, some for not much, so just say what you have and what you want and I'll have a think!

Sound like someone plans to cut it open and see if they can T into one, or perhaps play with the internal baffles....
 
Haha, yeah, I want to have a tinker, but I also want to keep my original one in case I don't like my results :D

I just don't see the point in buying expensive after market stuff when the OEM ones are very tough and well made. Just need to be less quiet/restricted. Those lovely woofles and rumbles on the over-run could come out a bit more for example :)

I'm not sure on price... I've seen some people almost giving them away on eBay, while some want a few hundred pounds for them. I'd love to, and be happy to, wait for someone wanting to almost give one away, so it's hard to say what I'd pay as the prices are just all over.
As long as you were happy with what you got that is all that counts, but I have a feeling yours won't fit 100% :(

Hi Dave - did you get anywhere with the back box? I want want too - sold mine on flea bay for 99p when I picked up a miltek and am regretting it in a big way.............Far too noisy on 3 hour motorway trips!
 
im going to a breaker tomorrow, they have a 3.0 03/53 in. ill check how much they want for it.

how much are you willing to pay and il bag it for you, no proffit youd just have to pay postage and the price from the scrappy? pm me if u prefer
 
Sorry I didn't spot this.

£125 + P&P tops I suppose.

There was a fellow on eBay selling a full system for £200 + P&P but it's just a bit too much for parts I don't really need (yet)... + I wasn't sure how it'd post being all in one piece (big and long)...

I'm keeping my eyes out but have plenty of other stuff to be tinkering with in the mean time :D
