Want a new TV - help please

I still have an old box TV and want to upgrade to a full HD set (not 3D), preferably about 40-44 inch that I can connect a hard drive to and that has wi-fi. I also want to spend no more than £600. I did see this and wondered if it was to good to be true.

Any advice would be great.

When I asked on here a few months ago Panasonic was the brand suggested most.

+1 Panasonic or Samsung, both get great reviews. We had a non-HD 42" Panasonic Plasma for around five years and then last year upgraded to a 46" HD Samsung, which has really great picture quality.

Have a look at the www.whathifi.com reviews, manufacturers are always bringing out new products so it's often possible to pick up the previous award winning model from places like Richer Sounds for a very good price.

panasonic plasma here. got gadgets, five year warranty from John Lewis. and just in budget. I have no complainnts. Except that viera cast is rubbish.

Have you got a link to the thread, can't find it

if the loewe is available as shown i,d be on that like a epileptic tree frog ! top piece of kit for curry's cash

Are Loewe's all about style and the buyers image rather than the TV's image? A little like Bang & Olufsen maybe?

Panasonic indeed.

So will this be a flimper spec tv, i.e. without remote control or so? :poke: :D

B&O cannot be faulted IMO , ,pay more but certainly worth it .
Loewe tv,s up close are quality item,s . go see them at John Lewis .
they look stylish & perform at the highest level
same as cars , ,, you can get a cheaper product that does everything ok .
if i was in the market for a change of tv then the Loewe at that money would be the one . . .
don,t buy a tv or hi-fi off reviews or recommendation , , ,buy after a satisfactory demo

Depends on your needs. A 50" Panasonic for £500 is just not that great, at that size you need to spend the extra to get the proper image.

The professional series does deliver that, at 7 times the price though.

Plasmas are fine if not watched too close

LED's are great, but can be a little too perfect.....my Samsung 8000 is amazing but a little too crystal clear

LG and Panasonic both doing 50'' plasma for £499 now.....

£499?! Christ, I paid just under £2000 for a 52" Samsung only last year.

As above - you get what you pay for.

I can't watch a big screen which is low quality.
