wait for Facelift ?

Yes a facelift is due.. Its marginal though, you'd have to put the two side by side to see the tiny differences (mostly tweaks to the cabin. Tiny ones) . I wouldn't wait, you'll never notice.

3.0 Z4 E89 will be discontinued soon to be replaced by a 4 cylinder turbo variant badged the 28...so maybe deals to be had on the 3.0

There are deals. I have managed to get the dealer to sell the 3.0 usually £46,000 with the options, but can get it for £40,600 + 5 yr servicing thrown in. Does this sound good deal?

the advantage of the facelift is that all the little problems will be rectified

don't know much about the E89 but i'm sure i have read about water in rear light clusters

I mean the sdrive 35i. Is this the one being discontinued or the 30i ?

It's the 3.0i 6 cylinder that is being phased out for a 4 cylinder turbo engine.

And they are keeping the sDrive 23i ? :?

I guess since there are 3 x 3.0 litre engine variations at the moment, it makes sense to drop one in favour of a more economical 4 pot...

I would still put money on there being a diesel at some point.

God I hope not. Can you imagine sitting at the lights in a diesel Z4, with fuel-save/stop-start. All is silent, the car looks stunning, the lights change, and 'grak grak grak' the diesel fires up in a puff of smoke all ready to clatter off the line...

I have to disagree with you Maniac,

I had a 123d coupe before i was given my company car (and then swapped the 123d for the Z4) if they put the 4pot twin turbo derv engine in teh Z4 i think it would be a spectacular car,

That engine is amazing, it was fun , free reving and didnt sound that bad, not to mention i could get 54MPG from my 1 series on a run. in the Z4 you could be looking at a 600mile range!

so if you could only have a single car i would love one, though i have to admit, i would rather have one company car and one 3.0Si thanks!

No problem, disagree away ... we're all entitled to our opinions :)

I've also had a 335d, amazing engine, torque to rip your face off. Was still unhappy with the sound and would only go back to diesel if I had to take a pay cut :o
