hi folks

ive just recently brought a z4 3.0 , and im loving it so hello everyone

just one question does anyone know where i can get a red tail light from as mine has a crack in it apart from bmw. and a chrome centre piece to also it it common for the door handles to chip?
my z4 has only done 23000 miles from new but has a couple of chips on the handles?

cheers folks

Hi and welcome

Frankly BMW is the best place for both those parts. The tailights crack easily so yuo won't find spares often will cost about £50, but consider changing to a clear one that is actually a little cheaper.

Door trims. There are several shade/colour variations so again BMW and best a pair

It will be interesting to hear your comments on the differences Vs the VX, aside the greater comfort and less go kart like handling

Do get some photos up

Glad to hear you're liking it! I made the same switch, from the VXT to the Z4 (albeit an M instead of 3.0) and can't say I've looked back!

Heres another ex VX220.org'er - Welcome mate - hope youre enjoying the comfort and you'll especially enjoy it come winter time!! No more 'asthmatic hamster blowing through a straw' to demist the windows

Try to get to the Midlands Breakfast Club meet mate - either on the VX or Z4 stand ;)

Welcome. I had a Lotus Elise S1 for only 2 weeks. I think VX220 is very similar to Elise. It was very uncomfortable on motorway and noisy. And I think Z4 offers 90% of driving experience from Lotus/VX220. But BMW engine is much superior than the others. :)

I had an Elise for an afternoon, was not impressed, then again my main gripe was the lack of power. That is not such an issue with a VXT - been out in one and it was good, just hate the noise - becuase I hate 4pots.

Welcome - hope you don't miss the turbo punch :(

well apart from the power and handling there is a big different with the z4, the vx220 is a raw and very firm sports car, compared to the z4 im still smiling to.

I too had a VX220 although mine was N/A. I was a member of 'VX220.org' for the year i owned it. That was back in 2003. I had a Blue VX, vrm 'DK02XVR', i sold it to a bloke in Watford somewhere in 2004.

Thats been one of the only cars i ever regret getting ride of, the only other car i have really loved is my current 3.0Si Coupe! :D

I'm another convert. (R1 nur.)

Miss the VX but my Coupe is probably my favourite ever car.

Hi Ben

Still remember following you in the GT40 in awe of your skills sideways round Hatton island!!!

:driving:

Another ex-VX'r here (well opel speedster over here in Ireland). Just swapped to a 3.0si coupe in March and loving it, but I do miss the nimbleness of the VX on the B roads. My biggest problem though is I just can't judge my speed in the Z. In the VX you felt every single MPH, in the Z cruising at 100 feels like 60!!

Haha! Cool. Next time I would love to take a closer look at your car - looks fab.

Cheers
