VW Golf GT TDi - Anyone got one?

Good Morning guys,

Anyone have one of these, or driven one?

Looking to buy one, and keep the Z4 for the weekends. I was originally looking at the Astra sports with the exterior packs, but then the GT TDi caught my eye..

My approx budget is £7-8k. And having owned an Audi in the past, I was hoping the golf would exude a better fit/finish/build quality than Any other brand in the market (Including the 1-series).

I have written off the 1-series as the rear leg space is abysmal (My mother is disabled and need space for her) :driving:

Not owned one but I've driven one. It wont set your world alight but it will pull very nicely in the mid range.... as all diesels do :roll:

I really dont know what else to say about it. Its a golf, a diesel and will be everthing you expect it to be. Its a 'Ronseal' car :D

Nice, it will be doing around 300-500 miles a week. I think a remap may sort some issues out..

Defo considering one.

My sister has a GT TDi, very nice indeed, and also very very economical. If you can find one with leather go for it :thumbsup:
 
i had one- it was a great car and prob better put together than the z! It is no sports car but quick and effortless to drive and still loo great!
 
I drove few Mk5 Golf diesel. The car is very solid built, handling is good, and very practical. GT only gives you sporty look, nothing else. Its diesel engine is no match with BMW 2-litre diesel in 120d/320d.

If I want a hatchback, 1-series first, then Golf Mk5 second, no third.
 
What age are you looking for? I currently own a mk4 25th Anniversary golf with an array of modifications. It's currently sitting at 190bhp and 290lb/ft but it has a hybrid turbo so could do much more if the pipework is changed. I get my Z4 on Sat and will be selling the Golf after that.
