Ive neglected the forum a bit lately as we've had a few family drama's. Anyhow, I got interested in classic VW's again after owning a few as a family and my favourite unlce who died recently had a Karman Ghia for many years.
After trawling the internet and seeing everything from absolute basket cases all the way up to stripped out and restored split screen campers for 30k, I finally bought one.
Its a 1977 T2 bay camper which has just been imported from Texas by a mate of a mate. Its virtually rust free and whilst it looks as tatty as they come, its solid and an ideal project for me as a novice restorer. I was wondering if anyone else had one and would be willing to offer tips etc.
There are loads of owners clubs but Im reluctant to jump straight in with requests for advice etc. Ill post some pictures tomorrow after Ive been to see her again.
She's awaiting an MOT and Im not certain how to go about UK registration and the potential pitfalls of that. Any advice and guidance will be gratefully received. Cheers, watch this space for pics.
