I don't tend to trust much that's written in Autoexpress, but if it truely has been given the green light for production then that's really good news! If I'm in the market for a replacement for my Z4 in a few years, I'll certainly look at (used) examples of this. Not diesel though, part of the appeal of a roadster is noise for me, and diesel doesn't tick that box.

It's a cracking looking car IMO:

Seriously though, yep I'd heard that too - not sure how they'd position it in the market as it'd have to be priced above this VW but also not tread on the Boxster's toes...
 
Thinking back, I think figures of around 25-30K were hinted at for the Porsche, which I guess maybe means 20-25K for the VW ?
 
I like it as well, much nicer looking then a Boxter.

Note to self - avoid the 2.0T now Mike has cursed it with depreciation :P

Was quite disappointed last week with the news over the bluesport, then the baby Porsche on Monday, which ultimately puts to death the R4, which for me is the bigger blow.

So what choice, for our next car, do we have left Breaker? SLK, Z4, TT or the Boxster

Sorry Z4 Beemer, meant you not breaker......another blonde moment I fear :headbang:

Cars in for it's 2 year brake fluid change next week so going to have a play in an SLK while I wait, see what that is like in the flesh

I'm not so sure, it seems a lot (£4k) for a few cosmetic differences, which I don't think makes it look any better. However I do like the vario roof and the red leather interior with obsidian black
 
Pretty sure you get leather as standard on the AMG Sport models and the flappy paddles with the auto box.

My neighbours is a standard model with auto box but no flappy paddles.

Oh yes, Obsidian black and red interior sounds good!
