I have been trying (and failing) miserably to get my winter runaround on the road.
It's a mk5 Polo GTi. These cars have incredibly soft gearboxes. I have just had the second gear box installed. However, it's leaking oil from the shaft seal
I think I have two options.
1) Replace shaft seal (again) and see if there's anything visible on the shaft causing the leak.
2) Live with it. It's only a small leak, but could easily make a mess of the drive unless I use a drip tray.
Gearbox aside, car has passed MOT and is ready to be taxed
I am no expert on gearboxes. I did not fit this box, and the crook I bought it from said it had been fully re conditioned and was in perfect working order. Me thinks he was fibbing
Any advice would be appreciated.
