think i’m going to need a new vvt motor have a code and unsteady reading with a volt meter
are the cheap ones on ebay any good up to a full
price one thanks

Not sure about the cheap ones, but I have recently broken my 2.0, 2006 z4 and have the VVT motor that I had replied 6 months prior.

From memory it was £270, which was at trade cost as my friend owns a garage,

What model Z4 is yours?

If it’s the right one I’ll do you a deal if you’re interested, it’s OEM from BMW.

Hi Bob,

That will be the same engine that was in my car so will be the same VVT motor.

The 2.0i is the N46 engine,

Hi Bob,

Well, I do have a VVT Motor, OEM from BMM for the 2.0i E85 that you have.

I only replaced it recently, then decided to break the car instead of selling due to there being more value in parts.

If it is of any use to you id sell it for £65 posted.

I've used an eBay special when mine failed at Christmas and it was great to start with but its running rough again now, I would stick with a genuine BMW motor

Just to update this in case anyone has a similar problem the ebay special is now throwing VVT Actuator Motor Power Limitation codes again so I have purchased a genuine BMW motor from BMW Direct £244 v £369 from the main stealer
