VT2 upgrade kit started :-)

I have spent several weeks with the new Z4M VT1-445 and it is a great setup for this car. The additional HP makes the car a lot of fun to drive. If you guys ever have questions on our products please let me know :)

Here is a before and after dyno from a customer who just installed our VT1-445.

Hi roman thankyou for the dyno chart, the figures are very impressive, I can't wait till I get mine I'm certain we can get some more uk owners doing the same, thankyou for shipping my kit on Friday also, u pulled out the stops. I think the best thing to do is arrange a meet, I'll attend and giv out some passenger rides. Pics on Tuesday wen the kit arrives from Norway ;-) just out of interest, anyone else thinkin bout doin the same?? The dyno chart above shows this car will haul!! Can't wait to show it at gayden!!!

Sounds like you have something planned for the gauges already. I used a PLX DM-100 in my M3 and mounted it into the drivers air vent, so it looked discrete. The PLX can display upto 4 parameters at any one time (I had Boost, AFR and Oil pressure) and can be customiszed to mimic the OEM gauge complete with the little ///M logo.

Mike very impressive setup!! Can u descibe the sound the vortech supercharger makes?? Is it noisey??quiet?? Whiny?? How did you find the reliability with your m3?? Any issues?? Sorry for all the questions.

At 5-6PSi you`ll hardly hear anything, maybe a tiny amount of whistling while stationary and the throttle pressed very gently (while parking etc). I had no issues in 1 yr of running at that low boost level. I then increased the boost to 13-14PSi with low compression pistons (just over 600HP on a Dyno Dynamics) and the blower was much more noticeable noise wise, I had a few problems due to the custom nature of what we did but Simpson took care of everything and got it 100%, I pulled the engine and blower out before trading my M3 in and the set up is still going strong in another M3. Wish I`d kept everything to put in the Z4 now but I was convinced I`d buy a Porsche not another BMW.

This graph shows the difference the kit made on my car. Green line is std M3 convertible, Red line is VT450 kit, Black line is the custom VT3 kit.

I'll give it it next year a shot. but havent really understand fully how it wors with the different stages u can choose from?

theirs a 445bhp kit, 500bhp kit, 550bhp kit! i went with the 445bhp thinking thats more than enough, the base kit can easily be upgraded via, software and pulley upgrades to the higher bhp kits, ill do a year with 445 then upgrade to the 500bhp kit. email roman, very helpful and hell explain your options!! ;-)

Hah dude, love it! Not been around much of late, but will attempt to keep up with this.

Obviously you're not far, so will be interesting to know when you're going to pick it up, etc.. I might be tempted to give you a lift to Simpsons to see the thing

No no no andy you my friend will be first to passenger ride this thing....... I've got a trackday booked at curborough about 3 weeks after install but as the weathers nice we can do a mini meet once it's finished so u can have a look round her.... How's that?

Hah dont worry about that man.. it was nothing.

But I do wanna see this thing :D I thought you weren't going to bother with all your weight savings being done instead.

TBH... for £5k I might end up doing it too.. I know thats with a group buy, but I'm in no hurry.

Can't see me selling mine in the near future, an extra 100hp might be just the refresh it needs

I vote we do two off the line comparisons:

Your Z4MR VTS450 vs. my semi-stock Z4MR.

then... your Z4MR VTS450 vs. the GTR. <--- I'll happily drive either

Or, your Z4MR VTS450 vs. Andy's semi-stock Z4MR vs. the GTR - happy to lend a hand :D I'll even travel to you guys 8)

Just putting it out there.

As an aside, I have thought about investigating private hire of Bruntingthorpe proving ground for some shenanigans - if the interest was there.

:tumbleweed:

Okay.

Yaaayyy car passed it's first mot with flying colours, infact the tester said it's in better condition than most of the new ones that come thru, the underneath looks like it's just rolled off the factory line, then again it only comes out in the sun! Any how I've just brimmed the tank, new mot, 10 days n it's off to Simpson motorsport!!! Got to keep costs as low as poss so car won't be driven until the 12th at 6,30am!! I'm actually looking forward to the treck down as well!! :-)

Having just read the product description, I am very excited to hear how you get on.
Who knows, possibly I will have to trade in the 3.0 for the M and stick one on myself :D

Good luck and keep us posted

Bad news, my charger is stuck at stansted customs, i need to pay import tax fees. I've got a feeling this could sting..............,... I'll call fed ex tomoro to settle the figure. The message said " I hope ur sitting down mr walker" no figure was left on my message but my parcel is stuck at customs until I pay the amount. This has held up delivery by a day or 2. Why do these things never run smoothly?? And the figure?????? God only knows. I hate this government. Day definatly finished on a downer. :-(
