VT2 upgrade kit started :-)

booner, i solomley promise to take pictures of every single step, ill give you all a very detailed and honest review also, i cant explain how excited i am. im awaiting shipment details from ess, i cant wait to see that crate turn up at my house!! im even going to ask simpson motorsport if i can be their during the whole install just to take pics, they may say no but ill try.

Was going to reply on Pistonheads.

So Simpsons are fitting and mapping. All for 5k ish...Seems V cheap!

aliv6 simpsons basically want 500-700 gbp for fitting, im hoping closer to the £550 quoted. Bear in mind this kit would be quite alot more if i didnt get in on the group buy over on zpost, i personally think its abit of a bargain. i just want this kit here, right now, spoke to simpsons today and they want 2 weeks notice to book the car in, i would book it in now but completly in the dark on how long it takes to get a large, heavy item from the usa.

Otherwise see if you can give them a camera to take some pics as they go - that's what A-L Tuning did for me with the exhaust (not nearly as exciting I know).

Just had an update, kit will be shipped via fed ex today, it should land in the uk on Wednesday, so maybe I'll see it by Friday??? I dnt no I have no experience with fed ex. I've just come off the phone with Simpson motorsport, the cars booked in for Monday the 12th July. They want the car for 2 days, one for install, another to complete tuning ect ect. Im in two minds to either get a mate to drop me or just get a bnb for a few nights .???? Any ideas??? Simpson motorsport looks out in the sticks so I might find myself bored stiff for two days!! It's all abit exciting!!

Beedub, Lydney train station is right next to Simpson. If your wanting an overnight stay, I`d jump a train into Bristol/Cheltenham/Gloucs (in that order).

cheers for the heads up mike, just out of interest, just how close id the train station to simpson?? walking distance?
most likely ill head back to brum so i can just get on with work!! (the wait will go faster i think)

It`s about a 5-10 min walk (1 min in a car), I`m sure if you ask Ant or Jullian would drop you off. I used to fly to Bristol when collecting my car and got picked up/dropped off from there a couple of times by them. Nice guys.

Mike how do you rate simpsons work??? Cheers for this advice, it's very much appreciated!!

Great work beedub, I too was the group buy but after quite a long wait gave up on the idea as ess took a while to release the kit... have since spent the dosh on brakes, suspension and lightweight wheels ..

I'm keen to know what the driving will be like.... more gt3 or gt2 like- was chatting to a mate and he thought the latter. Would be good to get your views. When and if at all where are you planning to track the car..

Simpson are really good they seem to get rated well in all the conversions I've had with many M and CSL owners...

You should organise a " blown Z4M" viewing week end for all of us to droll over.... :)

Right hoe can I loose 5k without the misses noticing...

Beedub, I travel from Lanarkshire in Scotland to use them, so that should speak for them. Any minor work I do myself but for anything major I wouldn't use anybody else. They custom made a VT3 kit for me on my M3 and the amount of hours that went into the overall build compared to what I actually paid for was crazy.

I don't know of anyone else that are as honest and trustworthy when it comes to the car, cost or liability if something goes wrong. Your in safe hands and I'm looking forward to seeing your review.

Mike that's all I need to know, thankyou, I'm very nervous about this install and ur recommendation means alot. I am doing somethink very special for a boost gauge as well, somethink as oem as possible.

Beedub, could you alter the LeatherZ gauge kit?

I was thinking, new mini cooper s column mount boost gauge, all covered in the same nappa BMW use on our seats ;-) I think it'll look fab. But I actually do like it idea as it'll give me other items like water temp ect ect.
