vt2 -500 upgrade kit porn!! big update!!!

So Beedub, how fast is it? considering you also own a GTR? Can you put all that power to the road?

Actually you convinced me a while ago not to get a GTR. I kinda wanted one when i thought i wouldn't be able to insure a SC Zed M. It's looking like I will now thought so plan on getting the stage one for my coupe sometime this year :).

alanhasanicez4m, how can you insure a SC ///M (presumably) without a fleet policy?

Beedub, looking forward to hearing more when the niggles are sorted

Hey BMWZ4MC, well its not going to be cheap, but it looks like its possible. Im already paying around 1k for my standard Z4MC, I got a quote of 2k from CCI. However after talking to some other people it turns out you can get 10% off if you do some advanced driving lessons, apparently there are other ways to get cash off too. Im moving house soon and currently looking for somewhere with a driveway or even a garage. I hope I can get it for around 1.5k at some stage this year. Yes, still very expensive, but i reallllly want a supercharger :)

Thing is, ill probably need to get a BBK first, I also need wheels, more expense.

Heres the link to the driving lessons http://www.carlimits.com/script/viewEvents.php?type=airfieldtraining

Anyone fancy going soon? I must warn you, I've never done a track day yet! so am going to be s**t!

Oh yea, CCI also throw in a number of track day coverage too. As they are a racing insurance company, i dont think they actualy insure you if you dont do track days :)

I get a discount from REIS for being a member of this forum and also for the Walshy Day driving course. All they needed as evidence was a sceendump showing my login name for here and an electronic copy of the certificate from the Walshy Day. REIS have always been cheap for me, I need cover business use and 25k miles/year but mine is a standard Z4MC so I don't know what there like for mods.

This is a great day. I did one before my first trackday. Andy Walsh gives some great instruction and you have loads of room to really push the limits of the car. It's great fun trying to control a spin when you know your miles from anything solid. It can be a bit heavy on tyres though. I did it in my old 350Z and the cornering really hurt the tyres although it was a blistering hot day too which didn't help.

The power gets to the ground great, the way the centrifugal builds boost dictates that, it is abit lively when coming from a hairpin in second gear, easily overwhelming my big 265 rear tyres. 1st gear is now pretty much a blurr, before i can change the car bumps the limiter, the gattling gun fire from the exhausts is just so anti social. The car is awesome. plain and simple awesome, i feel like im building my perfect car, one thats only got history with me is very rare as well. sadly these little niggles have been rather annoying, but im hoping a simple nip of the the AN lines with stop my leaky oil cooler lines.

thanks for being patient, seems as tho shes sick at the mo and i cant get you a proper vid i made you alittle video clip of the smaller pulley chuntering away........ the difference in the exhaust note after fitting a s/c was shocking, the volumn rose significantly...... i love it!!!! Best mod ive ever done, i have a partuclar passion for keeping it like new also :-)

uploading at present.....

cheers matey, sorting the last of my little niggles on thursday i hope :-)

Anyone getting an s/c please please feel free to ask any questions, ive spent so much time, taking apart these kit i pretty much know them inside out now, ive made months and months of alterations to get that stock looking engine bay, i can pretty much open the bonnet and some people say wheres the modded bits?? lol its only the sinister whiiiiiiizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz on idle that gives the game away :-)

VT1 is definatly the way to go to get used to the power, but the cooling gear of the vt2 is awesome, consistance performance all the time, the way the speedo moves is insane!!!!

in the video of just made im showing the COLD idle, this car drives BETTER than my stock z4m ever did, sooo smooth the tuning is perfect. all in all its definatly a mod id do again, unfortunatly the cost of these kit was alot cheaper when i jumped on the american group buy.

ian........ bmwz4mc.....

a little clip just for you :-) just to make you want even more.

Also note what weve done with oil pressure, the s54 has 2 outlets, one is used by the stock low pressure switch the other is blank. What i did for the best possible install was move the stock switch to the back port thus keeping the stock function, we then used the front port for the oil pressure, it looks perfect, these little details are where i go above and beyond. I also used oem cable wrap to perfectly blend extra wires with the rest off the engine bay.

Hope u enjoy my little teaser :-)

Keep an eye on the clocks, no revs jumping, no idle surge, just digitally smooth idle, also no engine check lights, i can promise the car drives smoother than stock, driveability is just bad ass!!

Much though I enjoy a nice smooth car idling this really needs a rev sequence...come on, show us what you've got! Let's have some in car and exhaust shots too!

Once niggles are sorted im straight to the track!!!!!!! Need to be 100% the car is perfect before it gets battered.

ok s i finally finished.... ive literally just come in from HOPEFULLY sorting my little oil leak, turns out one of the o rings have got damaged...... if this hasnt sorted it!!! ill have another go!! lol anyhow i took loads of pics and did a mamoth clean up......
after three . somthing years of ownership and no salt usage or winter usage for that matter i was pleased to see it looks brand spankers underneath....... i wont be able to tell if ive sorted the leak until my next proper drive sunday :-) anyway enjoy the pics.
i must stress every single mod has been done with no and i mean no expense spared to keep the o.e look and feel, every single piece has been moved and moved again to get the oil look, im happy to say it made 500hp on normal pump fuel, with the high octane race gas i use this car make 515bhp all day long........ this car is insane..... lol........

the front oil cooler and intercooler, oil cooler is about double the size of the stock unit

the offending leaky part, i torqued this as tight as i dared, new orings installed, note ALL this i relocated from stock, looks perfect
z4mVT2-500parts002.jpg

im a stickler for detail, i cut down some rubbed to make a buffer for the oilcooler in the extremes of braking acceration.

Wow.... Def one of the nicest and cleanest engines I have seen.

Heck I'd buy that kit just to look at it.... Even if it had no boost!
