Afternoon all,

I know this question will have been asked a number of times before but I wanted to see if anyone has and direct experience?

Camskill have a deal on at the moment and these happen to be the tyres on the car at the moment.

i recently had a set of rear wheels on loan from a friend while mine were being re-finished..... they came with Vreds and honestly the car would spin the wheels like it had 1000hp.... imo they are s**t...... pilot super sport is leagues ahead as a street / fast road / very occasional track tyre. Not good in my experience with them!!

What Car were you driving?

changed to VREDS from runflats a year ago and have done 11k miles (after 11k milesthe tread i have left - 5mm on rear and 6mm on front )
they have been great even in all this snow we've been having, also did 3800 miles to Croatia and back through the Alps and doing 130mph on the auto bahns and round the Nurburg ring, and they felt solid as a rock.

This is what I wanted to hear. I've only had the car a couple of weeks but I haven't noticed any problems with them yet.

I have them on and although they are not too bad I would go for Contis/Michelin next time without a second thought. If you do buy them give them a LONG time to settle in

I've just put them on all round and they are amazing!

Grip levels are brilliant and car 'feels' the road so well....

If someone was wheelspinning them that easy they should go back to a 1.0l Nissan Micra!

For their money they are good. Beedub, they're not really in the same league as the Supersports and they're priced accordingly. If you want absolute grip from a street tire (minus the obvious semi-slicks) try the Yokohama AD08's.

how do you feel they compare to mpss??

I guess a normal Z4m would feel like it has 700bhp then

I went for michelins and would happily pay the extra for them again. Very confidence inspiring, good in the cold and wet.
They often have a decent deal on them where you get fuel vouchers back, making the price not bad at all.

I haven't tried the Supersports yet though they were to be my new tyres before deciding on the AD08s. They will grip better in the dry, worse in the wet and wear more easily.. Their UTQG rating is 180 vs 300 of the SS's. For dual street/track weekend car they're the best compromise in my opinion. For a daily that sees plenty of mileage it's not worth it. I daily drive them but my commute is very short so not much difference. If you have an extra set of wheels for the track they're also not worth it vs semi-slicks unless you have to drive a long distance to get to and from the track, in that case i'd personally feel safer driving all the way in the AD08's than in something like Toyo R888's.

Got shot down on the last thread regarding these tyres by the 'experts' but stand by my middle of the road view on them. I am sure they are a good upgrade from runflats - as would most tyres be but with an M, which is a performance model why stick budget tyres on it? Spend a few £ more and get a proper set of performance tyres. Michelin Pilot Super Sports would be my recommendation and will be my next purchase.

Re above Yoko AD08 they maybe a bit soft for our heavy cars.

ga41 not to mention i like that the ad08 is a full tread depth ...... big plus imo compared to a semi slick...

Parent's 335i now has a set on the rears.

The drive has reportedly been improved, comfort, road noise etc.

The compound is soft yes, that's part of the reason they grip so well. But again if it's for a weekend car it's still worth it. Sidewalls are very stiff too which makes everything feel a bit sharper and they are very wide. I mean wider than other tyres of the same posted width. I love them.

As yours is mostly a weekend/track car i think you should try them if you don't want to go all the way to a semi-slick. They've just announced a new version the AD08 R which is even faster on the track (about 1.5sec a lap quicker in Tsukuba!) but no word on availability yet.

Ive run mine for a year on 19" CSLs. Had 18s with Mich Pilot Sports and think they are as good and £400 cheaper, no difference on the road, slightly louder maybe.
