Nope, it's all based on wheel speed & rotation, no magic or trickery!

What Playalistic said, just keep in mind that after everytime you change tires or adjust your tire pressures then while parked with the ignition on you press the tire pressure button and keep it pressed until the tire pressure bulb turns on, then drive away and after 30-40 meters it turns itself off, now it's tuned to your new tire pressure! Simple as that!
