their best trump card is the wet weather performance too, so now is a good time to watch them shine. only hope you agree ! :thumbsup:
 
I've got them on the front, contis on the back for now, when the rears are done I'll put them on the rear as well.

The improved bite up front makes for some epic encounters with roundabouts about this time of year.
 
mine look ok but jeez ive had some close ones the last couple of days, from nowhere the rears have been spinning up and sending me in all sorts of directions.

i know the road is incredibly slippy at the moment but it's been very oversensitive, went into a carpark sideways this morning off an island without wanting to, DSC on... :?

I can get four new tyres from Camskill for about £535.

That is two at 235.35/19 and two at 265.30/19 (CSL's).

Some local chap just came back to me with a quote to supply and fit the four at £1089 all in.

What a muppet.
 
my local bloke was the 550, so they're not all bad.

still, at 535 + fitting, that's excellent value compared to the ps2's, isnt it ? :D

I paid about £650 fitted for 19s. Can't remember exactly. I'd only buy PS2s if money was no object.
 
What sort of milage did you guys get out of the Z4 M Conti rear tyres?

I may just buy the conti`s again. One of my concerns is being over-tyred if that makes sense? You can appreciate the power more with less grip. If there is too much grip that can spoil the fun and the balance. It can make it more dangerous to have fun due to the higher grip levels.
 
Eh, i couldn't disagree more Darren. Rubber is the only thing in contact with the road, without decent tyres you're losing balance and feel as well as grip. The car has much much more to give than most of us dare find out, good tyres will enhance your ownership experience. Especially given the dismal Contis that BMW should never have fitted in the first place.
 
the vredesteins are excellent tyres and a lot more grippy, but there's no way you could say it overtyres them.. if anything the major thing you notice is they're more predictable but the gap between wet/dry lessens a great deal compared to the contis.

as they're cheaper than the contis too, it was a no brainer for me.

ive had 2 contis on the back, & a further 6 vredesteins (2+4) in total at 38k. feels like im not far off another 4 now but they're all still very legal.

interesting that the tyres on it when i got it 3 years ago didnt seem to be those it had new - after 1300miles. :lol:
 
Fair points guys, it was just a thought. I may give them a try myself. :) Car is only 12,*** miles and not sure how much longer the rears will last so might order some sooner ready.
 
Well I got them fitted and had a full alignment done as well as the car was well out of what it should have been.

Very impressed with them so far although not been out in really wet conditions yet.

They suggested I run tyre pressures at 40psi rear and 37psi front which seems alot higher than what I had the PS2's at. Their rationale was that because of the softer inner wall this will stop excessive wear on the inner side.

Anyone else been recommended to run them at these pressures? If not, what you running at?

That sounds ridiculously high to me. A bit of experimentation around the 30-35psi mark sounds in order to me. Also 1psi higher in the rears would be the norm to me, 3psi is too much of a difference. Sounds like they made these pressures up off the top of their heads.

He did check the pressures recommended for the Z4M on the inside of the door and then made the suggestion so I dont think he just made them up but to me it still seems too high.

I am sure there might be something in his rationale with the softer inner side walls but still to high IMO.
