Vred Sessanta Dilemma

I currently have the Sessanta's on the M, both fronts are at 5mm, as is one of the rears. The other rear is at 2-3mm and needs replacing. I'd like to change to something else but trying to work out what is more cost effective.

Sell the Vreds on here (not sure of value) and buy 4x Michelin/Goodyear, or buy 1 replacement Vred and change all next time around. What do you reckon?

maybe just change both rears?

No point in just doing one rear as then you will have the same issue again,

why not change both rears now and save up for the fronts?

Thing is I would really like to change to Michelin/Goodyear, just not sure if it's cost effective

Change to them on the rear, see how the car drives and then do front when they wear down a bit?

Mixing between axels shouldn't cause much of an issue :)

I would think they a pretty worthless second hand. So go for 1 now, 4 later, or 2 now 2 later. No reason you can.t have Vreds on the front and others on the rear. :)

Or speak to Andy Wilks on here to see if he can source you a 4-6mm sessanta? That way you're matched, not laying out for a brand new tyre and can move on to a new set sooner. That would be my course of action.

Why are you picking Michelin/Goodyear out of interest?

I have recently been looking to change all mine as well (I got a warning on my mot 8 months ago about the front so I am pretty sure they may not be legal ) I have been looking at the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 all round. think they about £400 on camskill atm just trying to find out if local garage will fit them but not ordered yet.

For me the 3 to choose from are Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta (£480), Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 (£490) or Michelin Pilot Super Sport (£580), prices approx without fitting

Why not the contis that came from new, out of interest?

Do you mean the Conti M3s? If so, I think things have moved on bit now, they are OK but there are better choices now I think

I can understand going from Vreds to Michelin but Vreds to Goodyear :? Why waste your cash going like for like ?
I would go a pair of new Vred rears & sell the part worn one

I've got Vreds on the front and Dunlops on the rear of mine. That's how it came, but they seem to live happily together.

Would be interested to read what you decide upon.

One of my sets of wheels has Vreds on one axle and PSS on the other and the handling is slightly less communicative when compared with Vreds all round on the same wheels.

Good to know. I'm on new conti 5s as supplied by the indie dealer I bought the car from (actually, winter Pirellis at the moment). What's the general consensus when I come to change? Asym2s or vreds by the looks of things?

I was very happy with the Contis and stuck when those when I replaced the rears.
