Vomit

My granddaughter decided to Chuck up in the 335 last night.
A good load of cheesy vomit all over the oyster leather rear seat, seat belt and floor - I only had a few paper towels at first and it was hall an hour before I could get some warm soapy water on the job.

I think I might have to get the seat squab out at some time but if the pong does linger - how best to get rid?

Don't envy you. The best stuff I have ever used for removing unwanted odours is Nanolex ODEX. It is scent free but at this time of year will take a few days for delivery. Still worth getting as it will totally eliminate the smell. You can mask the smell meantime with air fresheners.

Bicarbonate of soda.

How is it that used please?
I’ve heard of folk leaving a tub of it In a fridge that was previously used to store fish - it was said that it absorbed that stench - so maybe just sprinkle it on the rear carpets then vacuum up once a week?

Trade in one pong for another?
I went out in the car last night and it’s not too bad, there’s just a background smell of cheesy puke !

Thanks Steve84N
The Bicarbonate of Soda seems to be doing the trick!
The carpets had a good wash with disinfectant then had a good dusting of Bicarb' then vacuumed, then yet another application - there is a slight background pong but i think another session with the Bicarb will have it sorted - I am never going to resort to a scented fir tree from the mirror!

Diluted white vinegar Ronk! I swear by it! Hope all is good with you and yours

What sort of dilution are we looking at ?

All is generally good here - how are things with you?

50/50 water vinegar ....... test a bit on the leather first. It will smell of vinegar for a while and then it will clear and everything should settle out. Try a more diluted version first and see if it helps just in case.
Over two years since I was on the Z4 forum still driving Pork and just recently grabbed an Elise :?

Sorry Ronk thought I had posted last night. Try a lighter dilution and test the leather first. It will honk of vinegar at first and then settle down. All good here still driving but in different metal/fiberglass!

I used the Bicarbonate of Soda ( low effort required) but there remained a residual /background pong so I took BeeEmms advice and bought the Nanolex ODEX he recommended. (£12 for 200ml from an eBay seller)

I gave the affected area a couple of good squirts from the 200ml bottle and the smell has gone - I hope it’s a permanent fix. There is no Perfume attached to the product so it’s not a masking process.

If it ever happens again, and I sincerely hope it doesn’t, this is what I will use after an initial clean up.

I keep a bottle in the house as well, as it gets rid of fish smells as well as any other undesirable pongs. Who was it that thought that a toilet inside a house was a good idea?
