Visual test of your cars paint finish

Want to see if you have, or how much you have, swirls etc on your car's paint finish? Get one of these: Brinkmann. Hold it up and use in a low light area (like a garage), point so the light is reflecting back at your eyes and you will (or won't) see swirls etc. I use it before judged car shows to see any flaws etc., then repair as needed.

Thinking life can’t get worst.
Then think again BRINKMANN Maxfire dual xenon rechargeable spotlight :|

I find the "walk-past" test is good for swirls.

If I walk past the car at normal walking pace and don't see any, then they don't matter! :P

I use a hand held florescent light to catch imperfections. I prefer the light I have as the tube light covers a larger area.

Ladies and gentlemen, introducing 20Ducks, the Rainman of detailing...

Be careful or you might make 20 Ducks do and enfield! (take his ball and go home)

Help Please! Last Thursday my car was parked outside during a rainstorm. It was extremely hot before and after the rain, now I have what appears to be some kind of an acid rain problem in the clearcoat on my paint. I actually used my Porter Cable with my least aggressive pad and it appeared to have very little effect on the problem. The problem only exists on horizontal surfaces mainly on the drivers side of the car. It can only be seen in certain light, but it is driving me crazy. Thx
