came across this morning ... got to be some of the best driving i have ever seen ....

one day the garage is going to have a mk1/mk2 Escort in it.

I love the way they fly round the ice with the only PPE being a bobble hat..

In terms of finding an escort for the garage ..wow .... this one would do ..

but the price...

I think my friend had a mk2 escort. Thunderbird Yellow, 1978 rings a bell, S reg if I remember right. Had a pinto engine, and was the one with the square headlights (this might have been the rs2000, but I dont know that much about them).

It was very quick, and had been stripped out of the all the unnecessary gubbins inside. Very nice car... although the exhaust was a tad on the loud side!

My first car was a mk 2 escort-just had the rubber backing for carpet  , a switch on the dash to light the reversing light  ,i had to buy a stick on heated rear screen element  front lights that kept blowing every month or so (had to replace the whole sealed unit from scrappies)-no inertia seat belts -ahh those were the days!

I know it's rose tinted glasses but wasn't motorsport so much better in simpler times

I think the cars may have been easier to drive. I could and did all that slide-y stuff in my escort van (uprated engine smaller flywheel)) back in 80 something. I can't even begin to get the z4 to drift in the same way.
