VIN panic !

ok, so i saw a thread by Sanere85 regarding parts lists on http://www.realoem.com/bmw/ so i went on and put in the VIN which i quickly looked up from the front of my service handbook. Then the panic set in when the screen told me that i owned a 2006 535i and not a 2007 Coupe.
To be sure i looked at my log book and put that different VIN in which (thank the lord) brought up my correct details.
So, the panic is, has my newly purchased and much loved car really had a service as the VIN numbers differ between service schedule and V5.
Is theer any way of checking ? :( :?

Can't you just ask the dealer? If they put the key in the reader, it should bring up all the service history.

The problem is that i didn't buy from a BMW delaer (though it was from a dealer with excellent pedigree) and it was over 120 miles away.
My local approved dealer would probably charge me for the info, they have a bit of a reputation !

It was that process that cocked up all of my warranty, they had my car down as being a 2007 3.0l and the warranty claims went onto a different car. took me ages to sort out and when they corrected thier records they denied any knowledge of the warranty work. That key reader system is far from faultless.

Can I suggest you read this one on the X forum regarding mismatch on VIN numbers.
