seems like a long time from production to registration, unless I'm reading that wrong?

It was indeed, you I presume? Looked very nice and you would also be the first zed to flash/wave/acknowledge back so hello! My wife thought I was a right loser!

That in date order is car 2457 in my database. I have 2780 cars in the db

Excellent yes it was me. Sort of guessed it must have been you in the black roadster that flashed me. Just to keep it on topic my 09 coupe was built in May 08 but not sold till March the 3rd the next year :)
 
I have a black coupe first registered on 30/03/09, I believe it was one of the last ones for me the uk. Chassis LF69490. Can this be confirmed?

google BMW Vin Decoder - pick a website, enter the VIN number, and it will show you the build date :thumbsup:

Mine is LJ50580 with a build date of 12/02/08

What was the production rate? How many were built from then to the end of production?

very good question to which I don't know the answer, I can only assume due to options they must take a day extra to complete so come off the production line a day later
