Hi all

I've not been about for a while but thought you might like to know that I'm (finally) getting around to viewing some Z4Cs this weekend.

Will post an update and let you know how I get on and whether I join the club and make a purchase!

Check list for pre purchase in my signature which may help. Good luck.

Would you do all those pre-checks even at a dealer?

Definitely. They are just as likely as a private seller to be hiding stuff and just because they are a dealer doesn't mean they won't miss things. And if you spot a fault that they haven't then it's far easier to get it sorted before you collect the car than after.

They claim to have a 124 point check but judging by the severity of the faults with mine when I bought it this doesn't count for anything (I didn't follow the checklist and wish I had!).

ABSOLUTELY - Agree with Glastoverteran.

It's your money! Once you drive off the forecourt and then discover an issue it's then the problems arise.

Great checklist by the way AlanJ, could almost apply to any car purchase

If you are looking at AUC cars then wait until 7th July to buy.

I'm gutted as just got mine in June because in July you get either 5 years free servicing or 2nd year warranty...for free!!!

Interesting, is that ///M's too, or have they been excluded and you get a keyring instead?

If it's like most of the '4 or 6 cylinder' offers that BMW advertise, you'll probably see it specifically excludes ///M cars (straight six in our case), and V8s (not applicable in this case).

Have a look at the 'value' servicing offers when you're next at your local dealership, and you'll see an oil service for a 6 cylinder 330 is less than on an ///M, despite the ///M using less/cheaper oil.

But most of us know an ///M is not the car for you if you're worried about costs

Had a look at one this morning lads - already sold unfortunately but it was the first one I've seen in the 'flesh' so to speak and I was thoroughly impressed!

Much smaller than I thought and very squat and very much a sports car - low to the ground and felt the part.

Just need to find the right one now! ;-)
