Viewing a Z4 tomorrow - some advice?

Bottom book price is actually the retail price now until the price guides can catch up with the current market freefall. As others have said, there's only one way to find out - go and ask them

Motto - I was actually thinking about accessories missing from the target Z4, which you can use to knock the price down. Of course having yours fully loaded will increase the ability to hold its price.

A game of chess coming up....

Oh sorry - the spec on the Z4 is good - leather, elec seats plus the standard stuff. But what do you guys think of the other Z4 which is a 2004 and 14,000 miles less and £1000 cheaper - got to be a good card to play in the deal?

Also - the bottom book price (retail) below is the quote I got from Glasses - which one do I look at?!

Trade in - excellent: £ 8,541.00
Trade in - average: £ 7,690.00
Trade in - below average: £ 6,850.00
Dealer Retail price £ 10,350.00
Private Sale price: £ 9,061.00

Sure - anything you can take from glasses/parkers prices, other cars on the market and their spec, etc. may help, but bottom line is the dealer knows how much he wants to make on a sale and what he can do with your car.

Motto, I would have thought they'll want to shift it for around the £8.5k figure so £7000-7250 wouldn't be far away. If it's a nice car, ring your local Volvo dealer and ask how much they'll give you for a straight cash sale, then buy your Z4. Usually a better bet when buying/selling cars where there isn't a huge difference between the value of your car and the one you want.

I think you've editted the quote in your post to credit me with a piece of research I did not do??

hehe - nope just paid the £3.50! Actually £7 because I messed up the first quote!

Guys this just keeps getting better and better for me but don't know about owners - prices are tumbling, just found a 2004 2.5i SE full leather, 18" alloys, 43,000 miles at an approved Saab garage for just £8,454! Good thing is now there are more cars to choose from I'm only going to take a really good deal.

I agree too - might give Volvo a wee call and see what they say....

I'll be keeping mine a while then :D

Been for your test drive yet?

Nope - just about to leave but might nip in to Volvo and get a quick quote for my car on the way there, will be driving my first Z4 in a couple of hours, probably won't own one at the end of it as Audi dealers are as tight as a nat's as* but at least i'll know if it's the car for me.

It's nice to see another potential Z4 owner on here but be careful...
Introducing yourself by showing us these low prices is starting to rub it in a bit  :P

Some cracking deals there, keep to the 3.0l though

If I'd have seen that 2.5i SE at £8,454 four months ago, when I was buying, I would have suspected it was a Cat D or C repaired car, infact I still struggle to believe it.
It's a good job I don't want to sell mine anytime soon.

Prices are probably starting to dip with all the excitement (?) over the new version out soon coupled with the current fuel prices etc.

I'm not selling mine either anytime soon :driving:

Happened to be in the dealers this morning to get my wheel swapped under warranty, so had a chat in sales about Zed's. Interestingly they think earliest for the new version is late March and they are not dealing on prices at all. Sems to me they are trying to bluff it out that all is well in sales.

'58 plate' 2.0 on the forecourt with nothing special, no Sat Nav at £24,650k..and an '08 used ar £22k ..ouch when compared to the 2003 to 2004 prices shown above.

Yeh I was thinking the same thing but all car's are tumbling at the moment so we are all in the same boat at least with a roadster prices usually pick up in the summer! :D Unfortunately I can't show you the link any more as I've just phoned up about it and its sold - no surprise!

Well went to Audi, didn't get it and didn't even get a test drive!! The guy wanted to settle on a price before driving and unfortunately we couldn't agree. Their forst offer was £7,000 for the Volvo. I said I would give them £2000 plus the Volvo and they went away for about 20mins, phoned their boss etc but said it was just under what they were looking for. Oh well plenty more out there - good thing was that I loved the car close up and am going to set my sights on one.....

Book yourself in to test drive one at a BMW stealer. In fact test drive a few variationsif you can like engine sizes and auto/manual.

Don't tell them you're going to buy it straight away but need to test drive to decide if you want a Z4 or not.

Good advice - I'm off on holiday for a week, when I get back I'll book in with a BMW "stealer" and take a couple for a spin..

they wouldn't let you take it out for a spin!!! muppet dealers, how did they know that you might not budge

still not a bad price though

stick with the 3.0, more power and more toys like electric seats
