View from Eau Rouge

Thanks chaps....long day again but really enjoyed it. Not a particularly exciting race but was so good to be there live at a different track to Silverstone. Bloody hot too...thank goodness we were under cover for most of the race.

Enjoy the race but I am ABV (anyone but Verstappen). Can’t stand the little s**t, his loud mouth Dad, Horner & the Austrian bloke who’s name escapes me yet always has something (unpleasant) to say.

Haha,very true,Steve.
How's things with you? Long time no see,on here or in person.
Still got that Lovely M Coupe,as you had mentioned selling it at one point,if memory serves me right?

Glad you enjoyed it,John.....looks a great weekend you've had. Nice one

Nice to see Original Guv'nor posting...

Regarding drivers, take this as meant and honest, or however you want..;
I saw F1 a few times live in the 80's but was too young to really appreciate it. The next time, and ever since, was 2006 ish onwards, when Jenson was right up there, I went to a test at Silverstone and you could see the pace of the front runners compared to the back markers, the late corner entry speed, and the speed they took in and out of the corners, you could see it, it's hard to explain but if you're there you can see it. It's the same with Verstappen this weekend, especially in the race, you could see his pace from the bottom of Eau Rouge to the top and beyond, he was visibly quicker than anyone else including Perez, it's subtle but it's there seeing it live, like him or loathe him he's on it, every single lap, I watched how he took the apex's and he is so precise all the time, Perez wasn't, nearest I saw on a consistent level was Russell and Leclerc, but they weren't as precise as Verstappen for the whole race, like Schumacher was he's like a metronome.

At the end of the highlight's program, there is clip of one of Max's lap from his car. Pin point does no justice.
It's just incredible. :o

Glad you enjoyed it John.

But you were watching from a great spot at the top of the hill!

Not F1 admittedly, but I'd much rather watch racing at Brands or Donington than Silverstone because with some elevation changes you get to see so much more from one place.

 Thanks John & Craig

Glad you enjoyed it John. There’s no doubting Max’s ability for sure.

Craig - still got the Z4MC. 12 years plus now. It doesn’t get used much - recently came out for BMW Sommerfest and averaging about 800 miles a year in it at the moment. Nice to see you’ve still got the IB Z4MR

Yes,Steve, had mine over ,10 years now.
Yours will be worth holding onto,as it's going to be a rare, low mileage and low owner car.
It's a very nice z4m indeed
Be great to catch up again at some point.
What mileage is on your Z now then?

I know what you mean, regards seeing it live. Never seen an F1 race Live,so can't comment on that, but know what y mean in general. Seen many Touring car races over the years, although not for a while, saw Many in my teens/29s/30s,etc, and loved watching John Clelland and others at how they drove, seeing it live and from good vantage points,is something else .
Can only imagine F1 would be excellent, especially looking at the view you had

Thank you Craig! Mine’s on 46k now. Yes there can’t be many 2 owner from new FBMWSH ones around now. As far aa I can tell, I think there were less than 20 Midnight Blue ones produced globally.

I’m going to a few more events with it now. I took it to Caffeine & Machine a few months back for an Autocar/BMW M 50th celebration which was nice. Hopefully catch with you and your lovely Roadster again soon
