Good video, quite long, you'll probably get bored if you're not an E89 owner, but anyway.....

Unless my eyes are deceiving me I could swear I can see the orange-peel paint effect we all know and love on the close-ups of the tailgate and also scratches on the rear light glass!

When I saw this video about a week ago I noticed just the same... BMW clearly not ashamed...

10mins is definitely long - even for z4 fans, i like the stripes in the seats and the black roof. nicking the glass roof and the airscarf ideas would be nice

If you look at the new F series (F10 in particular) they've mostly gone with chrome side repeaters now, so they're just carrying this through to the Z... albeit with a flick of the tail!

I quite like them tbh...

Incidentally for those interested in the new headlights, I thought I'd start with looking at costs for the current ones... So, the unit alone, without any Xenon bulbs or electronics/ballasts etc... is £769.68 PER UNIT. Thats over £1500 just for the two headlamp units, BEFORE getting the electronics and LED elements installed which, like the Xenon kit, will likely be supplied separately... makes the £50 LED halo upgrade look like peanuts!

e.g. the xenon ballast is £315 PER unit, the bulb £100 PER unit, and so on...

I wonder if the ability to open the roof while moving could be a software update as the roof and opening looks the same as the current model. That would be handy!

That was introduced with MY2011/2012. Most if not all of the 20i's have it for example. BMW apparently 'reinforced' the hydraulics and upped the opening of the roof to 25mph. You can do it with prior models such as mine with a SmartTOP add on but clearly if they have upgraded the hydraulics, it means the old system is weaker and therefore you really wouldn't want to make that change on the older models then drive it, open the top, hit a manhole cover and get sprayed with oil while the roof collapses. I'm happy opening it while still... albeit I tend to close it when parking/still moving as it still works up to 5mph.

It's an editing package designed to be cut down by news publications and websites, hence the long duration. It's not actually an edited video as such.

I really like it

Well that was a sh1t, information desert of a post :P

Got more time - not sure about the colour of the car shown, but I like the subtle tweaks, including the indicators. I wonder if you could retrofit them to an older model ? I also like the interior on that particular car a lot, be good if you could get it in colours that compliment other exterior paints - is this possible ? Also, is the rear diffuser new, or has that always been on the 35is models, and does that model still come with the straight 6 ?

I guess some people may be disappointed with the minor facelift applied, as the facelift of the e85 was more significant in terms of looks and engine spec as well as complimented by an ///M and a coupe, however aren't most other BMW facelifts always relatively minor anyway ?

All told, I'd love one. Wonder how much depreciation will hit over the next 2 years...

Yowzer bing.. how many questions... I know some of that... being a bit OCD about this car..

Until the parts are listed there's no way of knowing about the indicators retrofit, however I'd say they will because they'd have to change the wing otherwise and that's cost to BMW. I'm not a fan of the interior I think it looks cheap IMHO, and AFAIK its only in those colours. The rear diffuser is unchanged, its a special 3 part one on the 'is' only. 18i/20i/28i (N20) are 4 CYL, 35i/35is are 6cyl (N54). Depreciation will be bad, as it has been for all models so far, but not that much worse than anything else that's 2 seat currently. Usual 60% over 3 years ish.

I was going to change this year with the new model, but not sure I will now.....if the changes were more significant then I would have...

Cheers Maniac, sorry about all the questions... Sounds like I a planning on buying one, though for now I am just interested. As far as the interior is concerned... Am I right in thinking that, if you have the money, BMW Individual will actually do what you like with the interior ?
