Vibe's and rattle 3.0 M54 engine

Car has developed a vibration , hard to explain there is no EML on dash but I can feel it thro my foot. Was thinking miss fire so replaced the spark plugs, to no avail the vibes are still there.
More ivestigation the car has developed an other fault , under very light throttle and I mean light There is a rattle from the front of the engine cam chain I think ??? The rattle stops and the revs pick
The engine has full power, as said no lights on dash, I can just feel a vibration !
It is engine only as it only does it on tick over not whilst moving.
Ok my question ? Anyone know if this engine suffers cam chain problems. The cars done 56000 miles.
 
Vanos unit is on the front of the engine could be that the seals need replacing? Another thing to check is the maf sensor can make the engine run a bit lumpy if it's on its way out

Yeah sorry forgot to say checked MAF senso, it wasn't dirty but sprayed cleaner any way.
Throttle response is ok as said car pulls cleanly thro the Rev range
Going to pull the vanos system off her and rebuild it, bought the tool and repair kit so fingers crossed it works, will let you know , unless someone comes up with another reason for vibes ?.

Reading your original post I think you mean that you don't have an EML lit up, even so a code scan cannot hurt. You said you have changed the plugs, but that doesn't exclude leads, coils etc. If it is ignition spark related that should be easy to diagnose, eliminate each possible cause in turn.
