As Lewis retired then
Eh?
Typo of has and inference that Lewis is still better than Max me thinks. I also agree, as an all round package he probably is. :D

Exactly that

Not a Lewis fanboy by any means but I still think he is the best driver, in the Wet, Dry and when the pressure is on he just delivers.

Vettel will go to either Haas (replacing Grosjean) or Renault (replacing Ocon).

I sense Sainz will be the number 2 driver at Ferrari behind Leclerc.

Looks like I was spot on with Sainz.

Didn’t see the Ricciardo move however.

Yup, the BBC have good sources. These are the moves they predicted on Tuesday as soon as the Vettel news broke. I think Ricciardo and Lando will potentially be a great double act, but not entirely sure what Sainz will think long term, being the No.2 to LeClearc?

I’ll take a punt on this. Sainz to Ferrari. Ricciardo to McLaren. Vettel or Alonso to Renault. I’ll miss Seb if he retires, quality guy, quality driver. A champion and an adult.

All these youngsters itching to have a go, and they're talking about Alonso coming back?
And Seb 'an adult'?? Hmmm, he's done his best to prove otherwise a few times lately.

I think tat may have been a punt at Max, rather than a compliment to Seb. All things are relative.

By signing Sainz it just shows Ferrari,s lack of ambition .Lewis must be feeling quietly confident with that news.Good move for Ricciardo now McLaren are gaining the Mercedes engine.

Ferrari prefer experienced campaigners normally, which Sainz definitely is now. And has had decent showings with many previous teams. Leclerc in 2019 was a massive punt by Ferrari to promote someone that young to the senior team, but he is that good!

personally i hope that Alonso and Vettel dont' come back to F1 - leave F1 to the feisty young guns, get the older guard moved into Endurance and LM Prototype racing.

Don't know what to make of Sainz really. At Torro Rosso he was pretty much even with Max, I can see why he'd have been pissed at Max getting the call to the Big Team. At Renault though he didn't really have the beating of Hulkenberg, whom I don't rate highly at all. Last season at McLaren he seemed to be a bit better again...

I suspect he thinks if he can beat Charles the way Charles dealt with Vettel last season then he might get away from being the No 2.
