very squeaky brakes

Dont manufacturers add more metal to the pad compound when nearing the end of life ? Also, see how scored the discs are, that can cause squealing if pretty scored up.

If the pads have plenty of life left on them they may need taking out, give the callipers a good clean, make sure they slide freely, then re fit the pads with some high temperature grease on the backs.

Can also be caused by glazed pads due to light use, take the car out & really stand on the brakes several times as that can cure it :o
