Loads of perfectly good wasted components there, deliberately destroying interiors by triggering the air bags FFS.. The fluids coming out of that Mini looked brand new, and what a waste of engines and body panels.

Cars look all very clean, including the alloys. Seen worse interiors than that on "good" cars.

That 745 did not even seem to have door dents anywhere. :x
 
That is totally unreal and sad to see. There has to be some sort of explanation to warrant wasting so many cars that appear to be either new or in good serviceable condition.
No idea what it is, they are not damaged or write offs, maybe past their sell by date, recovered stolen cars?? like everyone else I would be interested to know.
By the way do our scrapyards go to the same lengths to recover the fluids etc before crushing?

The dismanteling is done at a facility from bmw itself.
Maybe these cars were used in the testing of the model itself. So reference cars for the production process or so.
I know that press cars and cars that bmw employees use themselves are sold off to the public.
But its still a strange thing to see.

I was just about to say are they not research and development cars , but there's a lot of r & d gone on there !

Many thanks for that, it does go some way to explain what's going on, but it is what appeared to be a huge number of vehicles involved that was frightening.
No wonder they cost so much!!
 
I don't know how old the video is but there is mix of old and newer cars some of which look hardly used when you see engines and underside. I'm wandering if some of them are rejected from new cars, there must a percentage which are rejected by customers due to serious faults and can't be repaired so are scrapped.
