Just read this on the SXOC forum copied in from scoobynet, very sad and ended reading the post with a lump in my throat :( Maybe some forum members local to Yorks or beyond can help or at least pass on the word?

Think this thread got a bit lost.... just found it. Very sad story. Looks like they've got a good few signed up already. Hope my post bumps this up a bit and hopefully some Northern based zed owners might be able to do their bit to help...
 
thats sad new indeed, a very tough time for them given what they have been through over the years

i lost my best friend to leaukaemia 10 years ago, he was diagnosed with it and started the therapy, he died 6 months later after catching pneumonia. he was 23 years old, had a law degree and had just started working for a law practice. the world was his oyster but he never got to experience any of it. its tradgic

Hopefully a few of our Zed's can turn up to show support.

If there's any that are thinking of taking their Z but might struggle with the cost of petrol to get there perhaps other members who can't get there (or don't have a Z yet like me) might chip in to get a Z4-forum presence there? I know I'd be willing to.

My best friend has just been diagnosed with mouth cancer. We are hopeful he will make a full recovery. Another friend has been battling breast cancer and has just been told its spread to her chest cavity. She's only 25 and with a 1-year old too. It's a horrible, horrible, indiscriminate illness.

One can only imagine what this particular family must be going through. This is now on Pistonheads and so many Forums. The turnout will be amazing for this little lad.
 
There can be no greater heart break in this world than losing a child. I don't ever want to imagine outliving any of my children.

I hope this turns out to be a truly fantastic day with plenty of cars in attendance. I've passed it to my friend with the F430 Scud in the hope that he can make it.
 
i knew i should not have read this post, things like this emphasise just how lucky most of us are in life

Horrible to hear when anyone gets such a disease, but even incredibly so when it's someone so young. If I lived closer I'd happily pop along with the car. I'm not registered to scoobynet or anywhere the OP has registered, but if someone here is then point him in the direction of The Willow Foundation. Bob Wilson started it, and they pay for and organise special days for people under 30 that are diagnosed with life threatening or terminal illnesses - whether it be going to the cinema, a Premier League footie match or sometimes even meeting a celeb/famous person if you're lucky. Seeing the smile on someone's face enjoying a day like that in amongst the bad news is priceless.

Every parents worst nightmare, you should never have to bury your children, my deepest sympathy goes out to them and the countless who also suffer
 
Wee Bing is only a year older than this poor chap, can't imagine the pain he and his family are going through but it gives me chills thinking about how I would feel if it was WB. I can't make it, but I hope a few can :thumbsup:
 
I've seen the helpless, total, utter despair caused to the parents in this situation and it's beyond words. I hope it's a fine day with a good turn-out.

just cant believe it.well it bought some tears to my eyes i never want to see my laads go before me .how lucky are we.i hope that they get a good turn out of all sorts of motors GUTTED :thumbsdown:
