Hi everyone
Just taken my car for its inspection 2. The car has started to make a rattling noise on coasting at low speeds. It disappears when pressing the brakes.
The dealer has found that
Both front discs are extremely worn.
Both pads look new
Front passer side calliper is sticking
I purchased the car in march this year and have done around 2500 miles - all of which have been gentle. During the sale the original owner noticed a vibration on braking and his local dealer found that new pads and discs were needed. The vibration is back again but the discs have worn as above.
I am about to pick the car up - on the phone the only solution the dealer could offer was to fit new discs and brakes. I'd really appreciate any suggestions people have on what might have caused the discs to wear so prematurely.
I'd also expect that the original Bmw dealer should at least contribute to the cost of replacement discs / brakes as either they weren't fitted correctly or there is an underlying fault that was not diagnosed.
Help/advice appreciated
The car is under Bmw extended warranty
