My young lad of 14 asked if he good get a lift to his mates this evening, don't usually be a dad taxi but the sun was out. Getting in the zed was starting to put the roof down and he said " can we keep it up" :headbang: Anyway dropped him off before he was out the car the roof was being tucked away in the boot. Got my own back as I hooted my horn and waved goodbye whilst shouting I love you as I drove past him and his mates. He will grow out of it.

Whhoaa , seriously uncool to be even spotted with son by his pal's let alone taxi'd in a roofless girlie model :poke: :)
Just cut loose for a few years & the minute the boy can drive everything is good again
The bit in between from 14/17 with our boy was "strained" to say the least , their hormones are telling them they should be alpha male but there can be only one in the house & that's where the friction kicks in  they don't want discipline no matter where from but stick with it
My lad is 21 now & we get on great

He is 14. If you put the roof down he would probably have to upgrade his hair wax to "extra stiff".

Cruel one dad.

Just don't turn up at the skate park, with your old board. Like I did when my lad was 14.

Aye the wind will have been a big factor - the amount of gel required to withstand the air buffeting would extend beyond his pocket money allowance :D

Wee Bing actually tells me to put the roof down... But his hair style benefits from the airflow, like a big hair dryer...

Wait a minute, WHAT AM I SAYING !!!! :o

 He use the air dry more than his mum :?

Default roof position is down. He should know this - he should also know that all his friends probably think your car is cool, even if they don't say so. This results in reflected cool for him, because Dads are not generally cool therefore it becomes his car in their eyes. And if they don't like it then he should reconsider whether they have any taste at all :D

I am so far from camp I am AWOL :P

Wait, didn't you just go for the "Right Said Fred" look? :poke:

(admittedly due to hairdressing issues)

Yep - think i'm keeping the fuzz cut too. Incidentally, I once won a contest in a bar in Corfu by stripping and giving an attractive young lady (not my girlfriend - she was cheering) a lap dance to the song 'I'm Too Sexy'. You may have a point, perhaps not as AWOL as I thought...
